Georgetown SFS vs. UC-Berkeley HASS

Regency schoolarship at UC-Berkeley and it is within an hour drive from home. Going to apply for Hass bussiness school. But for Hass, you have to wait untill Junior year to get into Hass bussiness school. It's also very competitive (about 50% who applys can get in). No financial aid from both school.

I would go with Georgetown SFS. You’re right about the fact that you have no guarantee about Haas, and SFS is a very prestigious program.

I have the same decision to make. Right now, I’m leaning towards SFS because Georgetown has a much smaller population than Cal and it’s also a better environment. However, my parents are leaning towards Cal because it is cheap and it has a great engineering program which I could transfer into my sophomore year. If that doesn’t work, I’ll go for Haas my junior year. If neither accept me, …

Georgetown is gorgeous ! i am a junior and my dream college is georgetown… Can you tell me please what you got on your SAT, YOUR HIGH SCHOOL RANK, and in general what is your profile ? Thank you and good luck in college !

I did well on my tests:

SAT

Math 800
Writing 770
Reading 740

II’s
Math IIC 800
US History 800
Biology 800

Rank: #1

Profile: Asian Male

Also 5’s on all my AP’s:
Bio, Phisics B, Calc AB, Eng Language, and US History.

My AP made a big impact so don’t think that they don’t affect college admissions.

Although i agree that AP’s help, I wouldnt freak out if you dont do so well cause colleges realize that not every school prepares you as they should. For example I was able to get into SFS and Regents at Berkeley with a 3 on Physics and a 2 on Calc. Having said that, I got fives on the subjects I like (History, Psychology, etc.)
