Georgetown STRONGLY RECOMMENDS 3 sat II's - because they are NOT REQUIRED, does that mean my mediocre scores will not hurt my chances significantly?

Math I - 740
Spanish - 640
Chem - 700

These scores aren't phenomenal, but I still want to go to Georgetown. Should I still send my scores?

send them ( though I recommend bringing up the 640, the others are fine). I may have misunderstood, but I believe if you dont sent 3 SAT IIs you have to write an extra essay

You must send three to be competitive. You still have time to take another one if you don’t want to send the 640. The 640 is not too bad, the others are fine.

I sent two SAT Subject Scores: Bio M-690 and Math II-670. My scores were incredibly mediocre, and I was still accepted Regular Decision. I wouldn’t stress about them too much; I think they are secondary to basically everything else.

I didn’t send my SAT IIs at all; there is no extra essay or anything like that. And I was accepted. So from my experience, I wouldn’t worry too much about those scores being the one thing that makes the difference. I mean, I’m sure they’re considered but they’re obviously not imperative for an acceptance.

Ok thanks guys. But because of the Score Choice policy at Georgetown, are my two options to either send EVERY SINGLE subject test score or send NONE? I can’t pick and choose which ones I want to send, right?

Don’t worry about sending the 640. I had a 640 too, and while the other too were higher than yours, they were both Math subject tests, on the two different levels. So it really will be fine, do not retake it I’d say. Noboby is gonna reject simply you because you got a 640 on a chemistry subject test.

Yes, even if you take the ACT, you have to send subject test scores. They don’t take them that seriously though. I know people who didn’t send any and were accepted. It’s coming back to haunt them now, though, because scores are used for language course placement.

Keep in mind Georgetown only accepts less than 3 subject tests for EA. Three scores are required for regular decision. If you apply EA with less than three and are deferred, you must submit another score to be considered in the regular round.

^ To which school are you applying? Although not necessary, I would probably try to vary the subject tests to show a range of your abilities. The SFS will use the SAT II FL score to place you in your language course (to facilitate the proficiency requirement at the proper pace).
