Georgetown Swimming Recruiting Process

Is there anyone who's son/daughter has been through the recruiting process with Georgetown and could offer up some insight? My son is very interested in joining the team, but needs some help on the admissions front. Thanks.

Some times to mention: 59.3 100 Breast, 2:09 200 Breast, 26.9 50 Breast, 22.2 50 Free

Georgetown offers likely letters.

Standard advice is to compare his times to the fastest times from last year, the times for incoming freshman and those swimmers in his recruiting class considering Georgetown.

OPH

His times are competitive for Georgetown. I would have him talk to the coach and find out what grades and test scores he needs.

Unlike other D1 schools, and like the ivies, he needs also to have decent SAT scores to meet the Academic Index to be in the ball park. Not sure about how good of a swimmer he is compare with other applicants, but in general, his SAT combined scores should be over 2000, or over 670 for each verbal and math, since GU only looks at these 2 parts of the SATs. He should check with the coach, who should be able to give him a clear picture. If he is a Super Athlete, then the AI can be a bit lower, but still has to be within one standard deviation of the entire applicant pool. The coach should have all the information you need.
