Georgetown Transfer admission

Transfer admission question

hi...I'm a freshman at the University of delaware honors program and want to transfer to GU.

I had a 3.7 out of 4.0 GPA in high school, and so far have about a solid 3.75 in the honors program at U Del.

ACT score 32, SATII US history 800, chemistry 720, literature 690. SATI score is a bit lower, so I'm not going to submit that with my application since ACT or SAT is required. (I hope this isn't hurtful not to submit anyway.)

As far as ECs, to avoid a long an exhaustive list I'll list a few.

Classical piano study, 13 years.
Classical clarinet, 10 years.
member of audition only winde ensemble for last 2 years of high school, dozens of community and benefit performances.
Solo pianist, 2 benefit concerts.
2 years as hospital volunteer
6 months as legal office intern
About another 6 months in a county legislator's office as an intern
spent this past spring and summer as an intern in the town democratic committee as an intern, worked on numerous campaigns and I will have a rec letter from the chair of the committee.
I have done so much since senior year of high school also, and this I think I should express to the GU admissions commitee. My activites inclue the 2006 long island forensics contest (5th place), member of a tournament offshore fishing crew (landed a 500+ pound giant tuna this summer), U. Del college Democrats, University of Delaware Sailing team, Intramural sports club, Intercollegiate studies institute (they give a series of lectures at colleges).

Let me know what you all think. Honesty appreciated, but above all, I would like suggestions on how to enhance my application and how to express that my extracurricular and brain-exercising work has continued since high school and will continue at GU.

Thanks!

I think you have a good chance

oh well, if you report your SATII scores, they will get your SAT1 score as well

his ACT score is really good so I don't think it'll matter if he has a lower SAt score

I know they are going to probably see my SAt score since it shows up on my University of delaware transcript anyway but on the actual application there is a space where it asks you to just honestly state your SAT , ACt, and SAT II scores. I want to state my SAT II scores but not my SAT Scores...I have a 1320 which isn't bad, but it just doesn't touch my ACT score. GU's ACT range is 27-32 and I have a 32. Is it deceitful of me to not directly state my SAT score on the application?

I'm also a legacy. (father went there)

1320 is a fine SAT score for georgetown, it puts you well into their middle 50%, and your ACT will help set you apart

so I guess submitting the SAT I score of 1320 won't hurt me then if I also submit my ACT of 32? I definitely want the committee to see my SAT II scores. Thanks

make sure you write down your ACT score first, then SAT1 score. I don't think it will hurt you.

You are almost a shoe-in I think. Just make sure you don't screw up your essays.

Thanks a lot everybody. I know essays are important- the committee doesn't want to read the same, predictable stuff over and over again. I'm trying to be creative. Many thanks,
Brad
