no need to put everyone's business out there, but I think the majority of those accepted already know. There are still a few who will be accepted, but the end of the week is for borderlines and rejections

Has northrams received his decisions?

I was rejected.

When today? College or SFS?

umm i was rejected Yesterday or the day before I believe via telephone from the college.

Nice!!!

I must be borderline I hope at least, why else would they ask for all my financial stuff?

Don't strees matm1...you're only a freshmen, freshmen transfers are very rare for people who didn't do rediculously well in high school. You keep doing the same you'll be in prime position for next year homie

Hey Ilmatic,

Although I appreciate your kind words, I still do not know what to think. My buddy got in with a high school GPA like me, but the same college gpa. this all is too weird.

Yeah but you weren't applying to the college which has the highest acceptence rate now were you?

It's all a crapshoot with these schools anyways. I wouldn't be too disapointed, you're smart enough...shoot anyone is smart enough...you'll just have to wait an extra year is all. What school you got to now anyways?

I applied to Georgetown college. I dont know, I think they have the second highest acceptance rate. I am at University of Maryland Baltimore County. I am thinking about just applying Ivy next go around.

~MM

if you keep the 4.0, you'll be a shoe-in (using your words) for Cornell and have a strong chance at other ivies, but yeah, it really is a crapshoot

you guys have been hella cool.

Your that man too kiko...

I mean I'm glad a few of you don't get too down, I mean seriously, its just a school with a name, yes its a great opportunity, but there are greating things in life then degrees and what not.

Much MUCH greater things ;)

For real, do you think you'd be lying on your death bed saying "WOW!!! I'm so glad I went to Georgetown" LOL...Psh...all of this is just incredibly meaningless when it all comes down to it.

I do not know how to use the quote feature :(.

Ilmatic said "For real, do you think you'd be lying on your death bed saying "WOW!!! I'm so glad I went to Georgetown" LOL...Psh...all of this is just incredibly meaningless when it all comes down to it."

So said Jesus, the Buddha, Lao Tzu, and everyone else who has achieved spiritual attainment.

The fact of the matter is that we believe so hard that these things will really make a difference in the end. Any religion/philosophy with deep roots tells us otherwise. Whether it be the Tibetan Lam Tso Nam Sum or the Jewish Book of Ecclesiastics, they both basically say what ilmatic said.

I guess the trick is to somehow be a part of our society that is pressed on attainment of prestige and power yet still be able to recognize that in the end it is all meaningless.

Thats the first step homie...

You gotta ask yourself: is what you are chasing even your dream, or is it someone elses? I mean, a degree from HYP or Georgetown or whatever seems real neat and tidy, and elegidly its suppose to get you the things you want (women) but the truth is, it really doesn't. This is supposed to be about you. If you think you can seriously benefit from Georgetown then go for it...

But all the important stuff like love, women, friendship, happiness, etc. is not going to be influenced in the least by your rejection. I mean you gotta realize that all of this stuff is what you should really be chasing, instead of some piece of paper, and more importantly that this stuff is just as obtainable with the degree as without the degree. Straighup, you want that girl, then a degree doesn't matter, no matter what type of girl she is, trust me. Its all about you man and what you want.

Alot of cats on here would have you believing otherwise, but thats because they live by their computers. What really matters is the passion for what you want...if that makes sense

I strongly doubt that; I was a borderline applicant with worse stats than matm, and I was admitted last week.

I agree with Nspeds..To try to put any sort of rhyme or reason to the method of Georgetown's decision timing game is impossible, no one really has any clue as to what is going on. The fact is, that they have remained to be consistently inconsistent over the past months.

Tell me what indication you have seen that you are "borderline"...please by all mean, indulge me. Granted I don't know your circumstance but listen to mine:

I recieved the G'Town letter in the mail, requesting finnacial information last week. Now of course it would seem to be unreasonable for them to send such a request if they were either to a) accept me or b) reject me outright. So given this, I'm assuming I'm "boderline"

I'm just wondering what could inspire you to make such a claim as I am "borderline" without any justification aside from your humble demeanor

Hey, I've read through most of the messages posted here, and I'm wondering if anyone else has been put on the transfer waitlist...and, yes, they do create a waitlist for transfer applicants, although I had no idea that they did before I found out my decision. I suppose it's better than being flat-out rejected, but now I have to wait until mid-July to see if they even decide to accept anyone from the list...which is infinitely more nervewracking than just waiting for a normal decision. I called the school and they said that they will try to take people from the list if they can, but that it is never certain that they will, and I'm betting that if they do they will only have room to take a few. And to make it all the more stressfull, I applied to SFS. The person I talked to in Admissions said that there are about 100 people on the waitlist for the college, and less than that for each of the other schools, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any more information or is at least in the same boat as me?

Holy ****!!!

I got in!!!

Oh man, the most impressive aspect of this is that I don't have to see any of you anymore. Hahahhahhaha...ya'll will never be laid. EVER. Hahahahhaah...if I see any of you at G'Town I'm going to expose the fact that NONE of you have a real life and then slap you in the face.

Oh god...that is so awsome!!!
