I also called admissions and I also got the same answer. Maybe some people with "priority status" get notified early??

Hi Nina,

I don't feel comfortable giving out specific information on who to contact. Just keep trying until you get someone willing to help you. Second, I wouldn't request to know early unless it's absolutely necessary for financial reasons and even then it's shaky. I think it can negatively impact their decision because maybe the app wouldn't have time to completely go through the process? I don't know - I would wait. Just my opinion though - nothing really to back it up but a sick feeling that I hurt my chances by needing to know earlier.

Good luck.

And Congratulations to Cavs019! Great job and have a kickass time.

I have a feeling they are still going through applications. They had just started reviewing around the last week of April, according to someone I talked to around that time, and so that would give them nowhere near enough time to review everyone's applications by now and to make final decisions. Plus, if I remember correctly, someone last year received an acceptance as late as June 1, to the day. Also - if they truly were sending everyone's decisions out right now, I'm pretty sure we would hear in waves. Why would they just let a letter or two slip out every once in a while? Those are for priority listers. Sit tight guys. Even though my application was supposedly deemed "unlikely" for admission, I say its not over until I see it printed on a Georgetown letterhead. Plus I got a Texas Senator who used to be on the Gtown admissions committee to call in for me. :) I doubt it would make my application all of the sudden get accepted, but I didn't think it could hurt to ask him for a favor!

Cavs - why did you turn down WashU so early? The early response date deposit of $200 does not constitute a binding contract - IMHO WashU is a better school than Georgetown, unless you're just really deadset on the business path. Good luck wherever you end up! ;)

Brand, Georgetown is held in much higher regard on the east coast. And again, I do not want to have to fly to school. I wouldn't say I'm dead set on the business path either as I could have easily transfered internally to Olin and will likely choose Cornell over both of them.

gosh...I hate this lying crap about the admission officers telling us they didnt send any letters out yet...when all ready two people have received letters.

Hey Cas0219--No need to treat me like I am stupid with condesending remark.
Everyone on this thread should call the admissions office tomorrow and ask the same question. It will be interesting to see the results. Come back and post your response to the question.

Someone should call anonymously and when they say they haven't been released yet ask why people have already been notified.

Accepted at MSB. Small envelope in the mail.

Good luck to all those waiting!

my stats must be around here somewhere do a search

Hmm interesting.. maybe my whole hypothesis is shot to hell! haha. Congrats to all who have been accepted so far!

just an objective comment...it seems everyone gets a DIFFERENT answer when they call GT for info. i don't know if it's intentional or not, but they obviously don't want you guys to know what's going on, especially if you call them. there seems to be no consistency to any of your phone experiences, so i wouldn't get upset one way, or the other about individuals' experiences with these admissions people. they are answering arbitrarily. doesn't seem to be clear, decisive information, but a put-off to those who call?
