Georgetown Transfer Questions

nina..you got accepted?..Congratulates~!!!..:)...did you get a letter?..could you tell me postmark date?

Oh..man..I am getting nervous. My HS grades were not excellent and my sat scores are also poor..:(..and I am an international student....

i sent my app on the due date and i sent my money in late

i submitted my app maybe a week early

aquamarine.. 760, CR: 630, W: 640 <-- this is not bad for international transfer to any college. Don't worry about it..

if you've taken Toefl CBT 250 or higher IBT 100 or higher.. it covers your critical writing.. so you are fine.. and that's why you've got offered from UVA.
Also, Kunkuk university is a very nice university.. although it's not one of S.K.Y.

cider..are you also korean and an international student?..you said you go to GW now..right?...

When I spoke with NYU counselor, she told me your SAT verbal score is pretty low and you HS GPA(my HS GPA is 3.5) is little weaker than other applicants..that's what she said...I didn't know NYU (except Stern) requires applicants to get higher sat scores than I got when applying to.

NINA, what school did u apply to???

Aquamarine.. that's so innocent of you... they don't know what tha hell they are talking about. You are fine with your SAT!! and it's higher than mine!
Logically, you've got accepted to UVA and why not NYU? Stupid representatives make people so confused. I hate NYU undergraduate admission representatives

I'm Korean and I hold green card. So I guess I'm not an international transfer student.

do they notify by state/region or this completely random?

i just found out over the phone that i was accepted. call in and try asking!

Hmm I called in and at first they said June 1 and there were still people going through committee... and then I called back later to get specific info about my application and she said I'm still "under review" ... so I'm not sure if that was a nice way of them telling me that I wasn't accepted or what? All I know was that a while ago, when I had the whole "unlikely admit" fiasco, they told me that I should look into other options. Perhaps this means they reopened my file? I dunno I guess it's better than hearing what I heard a few weeks ago.

Also, if anyone has gotten rejected (over the phone or email) that would be good to know too, so I could try to read something into this "under review" thingy. I do know of someone who got accepted to the college ON june 1 last year, so... I'm confused! haha

Guys, how do you do this???Every time I call them, they're like "june 1st" or "if you weren't contacted 2 weeks ago, we got all your documents". No, seriously, how do you manage to get the decision over the phone???
Pinkdillo, I just got a random question: how did your interview go?Did you apply for SFS?

Not good for those of us who have not heard anything...All those here who have recieved a letter were accepts...they must send out rejects later.

I think a lot of these people are either priority or they could be lying. I dont know but June 1st is June 1st not may 3-10

Everyone who hasn't heard yet, don't fret!!!

I haven't heard either, so I emailed the admissions department. Here is the response:

"There isn't an official decision on your application, however, after an initial
review, the committee is likely to offer you admission."

Here's my stat summary:

GPA: 3.78- University of Pittsburgh
SAT 1380 (before the new one)
HS GPA: 4.3
Former professional ballerina with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre
Honors College involvement @ Pitt
tons of HS activities, etc.

So no news doesn't necessarily mean bad news! I'm not going to celebrate until I get a letter though! Good luck everyone and congrats to those who have gotten letters.

PS. I applied to the College as an American Studies major

also, if people are rejected they are less likely to come back onto to this thread.

priority means students who made the waiting list last yr and also the extended waitlist

OMG..How many people already got into?..

Looks like 3 got letters and about 3 are prob.
