flyingxuan...congrats!..which school did you apply to?..what major?...could you post your stat?..and when did you get an email?? (b/c I am also an international student.)

i guess georgetown hasn't sent much out lately

I'm happy that so many people are being accepted. It makes my hopes rise.

Hey JTLOVERYORS, did you apply to GTOWN this year? I'm kind of in the same boat as you...with great GPA but low ACT/SAT scores but I'm a transfer and bilingual so....I dunno why, but I HATE standardized tests...I still have not heard though and I WANT TO GO THERE SO SO SO BAD! I have an excellent, competitive application but I'm just going to be patient and hope for the best...that is all I can do at this time. I hope we all get the choice we want!

I called and it seems like there are no more apps under review. The lady said that they are still mailing out decisions however.

She give a date when they should all be mailed??

Seems odd that they are not reviewing any more applications when they are just getting the spring grade transcripts. But I have to tell you I get a different story with each phone call.

I doubt that they are not reviewing any more apps. because spring grades make a big difference on a students decision...so...I think thats just their answer to shut people up. I dunno, I called today and the girl said, "Your credentials are all in, you will hear June 1, 2007." I'm so disappointed because I have such a great essay and SUPERB rec's. I'm applying to the MSB, are any of u applying to the MSB???

No she didn't give a date. And if you are supposed to hear by June 1st than they have to be mailed about three days before that which means that decisions must be made and processed earlier than may 29th at least. So it is very likely that they are done reviewing apps.

As some people heard earlier this week I just hope they didn't mail out acceptances first.

they will be mailing everything by June 1st. They do not figure out how many days it will take to get to your mailbox. Their postmark will be June 1st.

That's possible. But when I called I asked if my app was still under review and the lady was all, "oh we're still in the process of mailing out decisions and you will def. hear by June 1st." That could mean nothing though...

Braird, I agree with u, I believe they are still reviewing applications and June 1, 07 is the date. Also, if u look at last years list, people were notified June 8 and June 12 so...........Maybe they mail some letters out because they want to see who enrolls and who wont. Lots of factors play into this system, its not just a matter of accept and reject...TIME MATTERS. Therefore, people could hear June 8 or even June 12.

Sorry for interrupting you guys...:)
but I have a question about essay topics for transfer...does GTown use the same essay topics every year for transfer??..or do transfer essay topics change every year?...If it is the same, I am gonna prepare for it beforehand because I am gonna reapply next year..:(

BTW: :"That lady" who tells u whatever she tells u are also STUDENTS WHO WORK IN THE ADM. OFFICE....Therefore, ask to speak to an admissions officer! Because I got so many responses and I think they confuse the living **** out of us. Any of u applying from a community college???

WHY AQUA, did u get rejected, just think positive and be like "hell yeh I'm gonna get in." Dont worry, im in the same boat and I have an excellent application and still no reply but I'm not just gonna throw it away when I worked so hard... right? Therefore, look at ur other options and think +

YTA3..yeah..I got almost rejected...I received a letter from the admission officer..

"Thank you for your message.
We are still in the process of finalizing decisions, but at this point it unfortunately looks like you are not likely to be admitted.
Thank you,"

That's what she said to me three days ago..:(

As late as June 8 for last year, eh? I'm pretty sure I'll have a cow if I have to wait that long.

i think i mentioned this once before on this thread, but i was waitlisted as a transfer applicant last year which was kinda annoying cus they ended up not accepting ANYONE off the waitlist. i was surprised that they used the same essays this year...makes it pretty easy if you want to reapply. i just added a buncha stuff and made some changes, and then of course got all new recs. apparently they keep your old application and interview info on file as well, which is nice. ive heard that it's much easier to get in if you've previously applied. i have a friend who transferred there as a sophomore, with only a 3.1 GPA! she had applied in hs, and was rejected. ill be interested to see if i get in, but i think ill most likely be attending UCLA. good luuuuck to everyone!! :)

ckdunton...what about an international transfer student who live outside of the US and go to the school located in the foreign country?..is it much easier to get in if an international transfer student has previously applied??
