I am thinking about transferring to Georgetown and have 2 quick questions.

Does religion (I am Catholic) play into the decision process at all?

Did anybody start or complete the transfer application yet and if so how involved is it in terms of essays, personal statements, etc (I know i would have to get a deans report and recommendation but besides that)

I am currently applying to Georgetown as a transfer student for Arabic. There are two application forms you need to turn in. One is a personal data form and the other is where you type your essays. Part 2 has 3 writing requirements. One is to talk about an ec. Also, there is one personal essay and one essay that depends on the college you want to apply to you. The good thing is part 2 can be done online. Only 1 rec letter is required and a dean rec. With regard to religion, your religion is not a plus or minus. If you have any more questions contact me. I am finishing my last essay right now. Good luck to you!

I am an alumni interviewer for Georgetown Undergrads. I just received a letter regarding transfer students. Each year GU gets approx 1600 transfer apps for 200 spots. There are interviews for Transfer applicants as well so that is the time to talk about the 'you' that does not fit in anywhere on the application. Highlight what makes you want to go to Georgetown and your individual strengths, story....Hope that helps.

Will the admission office contact a prospective transfer student for an interview? Or does the transferring student need to ask for an interview?

I have the same question: How do I go about getting an interview? I am applying as a transfer student and today is March 19, so I hope it is not too late.

yeah I guess I have the same question as DCdude and musicjunkie701. Also do all transfer applicants get an interview or is it only the ones that have a legitimate shot?

I sent in my transfer application and was then contacted by Georgetown with my interview’s information. They mentioned that they encourage students to make the first contact. I haven’t scheduled it yet, but I have talked to him briefly. Does anyone know what kind of questions to ask, what to wear, etc? I also have the question as Desert_Fox. Thank for all the help and good luck to everyone.
