Not sure if anyone else thought this way, but I had figured since it was rumored they had overenrolled last year that admissions would be extra careful not to take too many freshman again this year and that the transfer rate would then rise a tiny bit compared to last year. But of course not…</p>

<p>I hope so too. If all goes similar to last year acceptance emails should come sporadically throughout the next 2 weeks’ worth of business days. </p>
<p>Also, it seems difficult to measure personal chances with the general rate- the transfer rate for the university may be 8.5% but if the yield is 50% the acceptance rate should fall somewhere around 17%. Then we have to take into account that schools like SFS or MSB may be more competitive while, typically, the college/NHS have more slots (again, this is just according to last year’s trend so who knows what we’ll see unfold). If that’s correct I guess you could estimate that the college would accept around 20% while SFS might accept >10%, and so on, then they just average it all together. Whatever the deal is, I hope everyone on here receives good news very soon.</p>
<p>i doubt that it’s 170 spots because i was looking at last year’s transfer thread, and an accepted student posted the letter that also said “This year, Georgetown’s Admissions Committees considered over 1,900 transfer candidates for approximately 170 spaces.” The website, however, says that 207 were accepted. i am betting that there will be around 200-300 acceptances in accordance with past trends.</p>
<p>I don’t think it’s impossible that it could be 170 this year too. Hopefully we’ll find out more tomorrow.</p>
