I know last year’s transfer stats were really low because the freshman class overenrolled (causing housing problems so less transfer spots) hopefully that doesn’t happen again! I’m worried that our class (2015 I’m assuming most people are applying as incoming sophomores) is still too big to let anyone in. Has anyone talked to someone in admissions about this?

^ yeah that’s what I’m worried about too. only 207 accepted last year! really! 2010 was def the best year to transfer lol.

I also applied to NYU. Hope it goes well because my EC’s aren’t spectacular :/.

I applied to Gtown cuz I like the social and academic environment after visiting my friend there. I go to GW right now. Its opportunities are amazing, but I just don’t like the dominant Greek life here and the lack of intellectual stimulus.

Hey y’all! I’m actually a current Vandy student who applied to SFS. I have a 3.9 here so and I was WL back in HS (4.576, 33 ACT, 8/533 in class, lots of ECs) ! I’m hoping it all goes well for all of us :)

For those curious, I (Georgetown College applicant) received my interview contact information this evening.

Has anyone else been contacted about the interview?

Did they email you your interview contact or mail it to you?

mankaneneestam, where are you from right now? they said they’ll give you an interview if there are nearby alumni. i’m in dc right now, and i haven’t gotten any interview calls lol. also, i’m pretty sure they email you about it because that’s what they did for non transfer applicants.

For those who are curious, I received an email last night regarding my interviewer’s information. I am also in the DC area.

Good luck to those of you who are going through the interview process!

Yes, it was an e-mail. I am in a suburb of D.C., like the above poster.

lol what! i’m like 10min away from gtown and i got nothing lol.

Nevermind i just got an email from them today. who do you guys have? i have leonhardt

I am interviewing with Ms. Maples.

On a side note, has anyone else had trouble mailing in their professor’s report? Mine was sent back to my instructor for the second time yesterday because of “issues with the mailing address”, though it is the one stated on the Transfer Admissions page on Georgetown’s website.

I am planning to go in-person and hand it in to the admissions office, but I was just wondering if I was the only one in this boat.

I had mine sent to the White Gravenor address. Haven’t had any problems that I know of. Is that where you sent yours too?

Yeah, that’s where I sent mine. The lady at the admissions office told me that it usually isn’t back, but no harm done - they were happy to take it in person.

Ahhh…does anyone know how Georgetown exactly informs you of your admission status?
I applied for MSB and Georgetown states that their tentative date for release is June 1st, but I read that some students last year got accepted in late April/early May.

I put my mailing address as my school address for the moment since I live in NY. But I finish finals and go home on May 11th. I really hope they notify be email. If not email, I hope they notify before May 11th :(

I dont want to be gone without knowing if I got in or not. Should I just ask to switch my mailing address or am I just worrying too much?

Based on last year’s thread, the people who were accepted found out in emails, most around May 1 and June 1. The people who were rejected mostly heard back, via snail mail, in late May and June.

As a side note, if this website didn’t already exist, it would be necessary to invent it: [Is it June yet?](http://isitjuneyet.com)

this is a little premature since none of us have gotten in yet but does anyone know what dorms they put transfers in? I know at my current school they put all the transfers in one building that is pretty far away from the majority of returning (normal) sophomores and I’m hoping that’s not the case at Georgetown

[New Student Frequently Asked Questions](http://housing.georgetown.edu/academic/index.cfm?fuse=newstudentfaq)

It says that transfers get placed in available upperclassmen dorms. I’m betting it’s the least desired dorms since transfers usually get last choice.

Hey guys. here are my stats for reference

My stats just for reference:
Transfering from the University of South Carolina. Applying to MSB entering as a soph
HS:
Unweighted GPA: 3.3-3.4
Weighted: 3.7-3.8
EC’s: Mostly sports related plus some politics related stuff (Model UN awards and things of that nature)
SAT M690 V690 W640
retook them a few weeks ago, thought I aced it but who knows. My guess around a 2200.
College:
GPA: 3.9. About the same for the MT report if there was one.
EC’s Club wrestling, analyst in Student-run investment fund, Reformed university Fellowship, Capstone scholars program, Dean’s list etc.)

Rec’s (one good, one alright)

This summer: two internships. one with a venture capital firm in Ghana and one with an engineering firm in HR (haven’t added these to my app yet though)
Started undergrad research on Ghana stock exhange and agribusiness

Hooks:
- Played sports every season year round without any breaks. 10 varsity letters in 4 sports. Scholar athlete awards and competition awards+ captain in two sports. Not heavily recruited because I am undersized but was recruited by a few D3 schools in wrestling and football. Not really a merit hook, but rather the sheer volume of activities. Also, partially explains the mediocre GPA.
- Currently in the #1 international business program in the nation. Apparently pretty tough to get into. Only a class of about 100 or so kids.

Because i’m probably the only one at USC who’s applying, I got an interview fairly easily.
He grew up near my hometown so hopefully there will be a lot to talk about.

did anyone here get rejected as a freshman? Because I did

^Haha I got rejected. I’m pretty sure it was my essay that did it though because it was extremely crappy and last minute.

I had my interview today. It was…semi okay. I expected curve balls and there were. He asked me what I thought about the constitutionality of the present health care issue. I’m not very political so LOL…let’s just say that I won’t be getting in to Gtown.
