Georgetown Transfer Thread

no i’m betting next friday is cuz around the 18th was when people started getting rejections.

i wish they’d email rejections instead…

I meant if we don’t hear back from them this week, is it an automatic rejection? Because last year the people that found out after mid-May were all rejected if I’m not mistaken…

I don’t think anyone has heard yet this week so I guess that’s good news for us still waiting?

Can I just call them and say “hey, I realize msb might not accept me, but just let me in somewhere, art history for god sakes, just accept me!”

^ hahahaha

Has anyone tried calling them asking for a decision?

I called yesterday asking them for my decision because the deadline for UVA deposit is coming up (15th). I gave my name and was given an email address. I emailed this person, but haven’t heard a response yet. I’m applying to MSB, and I’m applying as an incoming sophomore.

@alyssa are you definitely going then?

@Borges: for last year, the ppl who didn’t hear back until around after the 18th were rejected.

Seems like the second (?) wave of MSB-ers is hearing back…anyone have news on the college?

Seems like the second (?) wave of MSB-ers are hearing back…anyone have news on the college?

not yet, for me at least.

I haven’t heard any news from the college and I’m getting more and more skeptical. I wish they’d just have one day for a mass release of decisions…Someone said that there were about 170 spots for about 2,000 applicants, which means the acceptance rate would be 8.5%. That’s not looking too great…Two years ago (I think) it was in the 20’s and last year around 10 or 11 (could be wrong). Anyway, I’m pretty nervous. I’m a rising sophomore and applied as a Government major.

^Jdoh93, don’t be discouraged! With Georgetown’s yield at a little under 50%, I’m guessing the acceptance rate this year is probably closer to 17%.

If I can get in, any respectable student has a shot! :)

@adamajl44 did you tell georgetown you will not be attending?? It might help some if us!
