Well, from what I hear, some schools (like UVA and Georgetown) notify some transfers later in June so maybe it matters for them? Also, you coud be on the bubble and a great final transcript could put you in at the last minute.

I know, but I think that if they did that then it might be unfair because some people who do send their spring transcripts might already have had their application reviewed… If any grades were to be sent, I would think that it’s the midyear grades and not final grades o.o. Also, I checked the application again, and my impression is that they only want our fall semester’s grades; they never asked for our spring semester grades.

esthetique,

What do you mean by ‘midyear’ and ‘final’ grades?

They don’t have a form for students to report midterm grades, so they must be expecting a transcript? Nvcc transcripts only show you what you see… ie final grades once your professor posts them :)

Hi everyone,

i have been keeping up with this thread for a while now and I decided to make an account and share my anxiousness with the rest of you.

I read a couple of other threads of the 2011 and 2010 transfer rates and I am super scared for this year’s admissions.

Does anyone know anything about what happens if u have an incomplete on your transcript? My professor has not put in the grade yet, even though I completed the exam as soon as spring semester started, and I am very very worried. Please anything will help!

I would speak with the professor and explain your situation to see if he could get your grade for you asap, then fax it over with a cover letter letting them know what’s up with the incomplete mark. Seems like gtown reviews apps for a little while still, unlike some other schools’ transfer decisions. Good luck!

@Nova
no i’m not saying that we need to send our midyear grades (also by midyear i mean like mid spring semester, and final as in end of spring semester. sorry for confusion). they never said that your transcript with spring’s grades are needed. so i’m saying that if they do want to see your most recent grades, then it should be the spring midsemester grades. because that’s how some colleges’ transfer admissions work. plus some profs don’t even input grades into the system until weeks after finals are over, which means transcripts won’t be finalized for a while. at least that’s how it was for my fall semester. my transcript will probably be final around late may…also, i’m pretty sure the transcripts are needed only if you are accepted. that way they can evaluate for transfer credits. and if you’re waitlisted, i think it’d be a good idea to send a transcript too.

Quick question about scholarships from GU.

Are all applicants automatically considered for scholarships during the application process?? There wasn’t a separate form or anything to be considered for them, correct?

Thank you!

Do you mean merit scholarships? I don’t recall seeing anything specifically for transfers on their financial aid website.

Guys, need help…

Just received an email from Admissions, they want my college transcript (last fall). The problem is my GPA from last semester was very low so I wanted to wait until the end of this spring, when I can raise the average up significantly.

Any excuse I can use to delay it?

Thanks!!!

Hi Maxwine, I don’t really think admissions office will allow any applicants to delay submitting the transcript unless you can provide some reasonable excuses like military service, family calamity or personal serious illness. But you just intend to hide your low GPA… it probably will not be acceptable.

@maxwine

You can probably send them an addendum along with the transcript. Just briefly explain what happened. If it’s the only hiccup in your academic career they will believe it was due to outside circumstances.

I am going with significantlevel on this one.

Thanks for clarifying esthetique. You were right. I just logged back into the application and it says

“Note: An evaluation of transfer credits cannot be completed until both the above information and course descriptions are received.”

Now I feel more hopeful to receive a decision before June 1st :)

I think I’ll call today and ask about sending a midterm/final transcript and if they want course descriptions (I had to do this for UVA already)

I’ll let you guys know what I discover.

Cornell has already begun sending out acceptances to each college so possibly waiting until JUNE seems like a lifetime.

I just called admissions. She said, the admissions focuses on fall '11 and previous grades, the spring '12 transcript is only for credit evaluation IF you get accepted. She said students are welcome to submit midyear reports (common app form is ok), the admissions look at this, although it’s not required.

Hey guys, I’ve been following for a while and I’m really hopeful to get into GU. Any advice in these last few weeks before the decision?

be patient and focus on your current study.
That’s what i am doing now

Touch

Yeah based on past threads, it seems like gtown takes forever :/. So are you guys going to send a midyear report then? And yeah there’s not much you can do now but wait; focus on your studies because it’s not like high school. In high school you could slack off because you’re going to eventually have a clean slate in college. But right now you’re already in college, and if you get rejected, at least you’ll still have a good GPA. That’s my thinking.

Agreed. Yeah, I faxed my midterm grades last week with an updated resume only because I got a summer internship and an award. Then yesterday I got an email from a gtown transfer coordinator requesting more info on my classes… it seemed like they were fishing for info that would be needed for a credit evaluation but I don’t want to get my hopes up. Did anyone else have similar experience??
