You should streak around the dorm and scream xP lol jkjk inapropro.

If I get accepted I’m going straight up to my dad and saying,“Guess who’s going to be broke next year?”

But really, this is what I will do: [Victory Is Mine - YouTube](<a href=“Victory Is Mine - YouTube”>Victory Is Mine - YouTube)

They emailed me saying my professors recommendation never arrived
They said my professor could email it to them. I hope he saved a copy.

@gregfields it’s cool that they’re at least willing to accept it. But still, it’s a process in and of itself getting a copy from the professor (I broke my leg recently and had to hobble through a city so that my prof could get my materials -_-). Best of luck to you!

Any updates on your apps guys? Just stalked the 2011 thread and it looks like the first acceptances had started coming out about 1.5-2 weeks from now and kept going through mid-may so I guess it’s almost time to start getting anxious.

^ I’ve been in touch with a dean in order to try to get a timely idea of standing in order to not miss deposit deadlines for my other schools if I’m not accepted. She informed me that the committees will be meeting through May 1st so no decision will be made prior to that date. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too long after that. :)

@thejosher
nice update!

@alyssa921714

Usually the earliest results will turn out on the first or second week in May. Really nervous and excited!

Does Georgetown require a Midyear Report?
The website doesn’t appear to say so, but I wanted to check to be sure.

Thanks ~

^ Nope, not required. Probably couldn’t hurt, but it may be a little late to send at this point.

^ Thanks. :)

My school isn’t on semesters so the terms are kind of weird, and I actually don’t even have grades for this term yet so I just wanted to make sure that wouldn’t hurt my application.

support materials never jeopardize your application…but as thejosher said, it probably is late to send report. U have to get grades for all your current courses first and then mail to admissions office. It totally probably takes you at least one week. But you can try.

^ Thank you too. If it isn’t required I don’t think I’ll send one…I won’t have grades for another few weeks. Decisions will probably have come out by then.

Hi everyone,

I’m just wondering, do you think that the admissions committee factors in previous applications to Georgetown? I was placed on the wait list for first-year admissions last year, so would that maybe factor in to their decision about me?

Thanks!

Committee members review thousands of applications per year… So I think…even if someone in this year committee reviewed your application last year, he/she doesn’t remember you very possibly. But if your online application form mentions that you applied for gtown last year OR the essay includes that you were in waitlist in your freshman application, committee may take a look your previous application…

The fact that you applied previously and were waitlisted will only help your application. Of course, admissions will know that you previously applied, and that shows your interest in Georgetown, which clearly helps with the admissions committees.

I know some schools like Emory, WUSTL are like what you said @ medman. If you were in wait list before, it will advantageous for your transfer application… but I have no idea about Gtown’s policy

I sat on an admissions committee at Georgetown and am now an alumni interviewer–I can assure you that it does strengthen a transfer application if the individual was waitlisted previously.

@medman Thanks for your official confirmation.
Since you are interviewer, I wanna know that how important is transfer interview to the applicant? I will really appreciate your help!

Also, how significant is it if the applicant was rejected last year? Especially if there’s substantial improvement?
