I am hoping to transfer into Georgetown, and study Business, from a California CC and would like to know what you guys think of my chances-- otherwise I will concentrate more on getting into a local UC (Berkeley).

Me:
-3.65 GPA, likely will be a 3.7 by the time of transfer.
-Immediate past VP of PR, and Current President of Toastmasters Club
-Organize and host a motivational study skills workshop
-Internship with a small marketing company
-Unique background for personnel statement ("unique" is being humble)

I would really appreciate a hand, as neither of my parents even graduated HS (or most of my family) so it is hard for me to find people to get advice on such things as University matters.

Focus on Berkeley. I know they take CC transfers. Your GPA is low for Georgetown, even if you were applying from a national university.
You certainly have a chance at UCB/UCLA.

ECs are great but it would have been better had you joined some sports. And I agree with the above poster that the GPA is a little low. Overall, I think you have a shot. Just make sure to write an excellent essay.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback.

After going through College Confidential I think I will focus on getting into Economics at Berkeley or Business Economics at UCLA. The latter would be my preference and the former would be the most likely.

Is there anything that you might recommend to improve my chances? I am likely going to expand my workshop to a local YMCA and focus it towards inner city/troubled youth.

I guess I still could and might be willing to pick up a sport (I have a year to go). But, would picking up a sport really improve my chances as a community college transfer?
