Hey, just wondering if anyone is applying to Georgetown here. I'm applying to the Foreign Service. Cheers

I’m applying! June 1st is a ludicrous decision date though. Do we know if they ever release decisions early?

just wanna let you guys know that there is an official gtown transfer thread under the actual georgetown link on this website…

did anyone get some sort of confirmation?

i was looking at last year’s thread for georgetown and a good amount found out if they got in or not before june 1st…

where do you see may 1st? I see June 1st on the website

From last year’s thread the first decisions came out around April 24th, but most found out in the first two weeks of May… hopefully will be around the same time this year?

April 24th? Early May? That would be sweet. Are you sure about that?

There are a few transfer threads in the georgetown forum section from the last few years detailing dates when people got their decisions. That is the data people are going off of…

Last year, Georgetown said June 1st would be the last date you hear from them. Sounds like it’s rolling… that’d be nice to hear by the end of the month.

whoever got an interview:
how long was your interview?

hey there, when I had my interview, it was supposed to be an hour long, but we managed to talk for around 2-3 hours, mostly because we realized that we had gone to school together back in kindergarten. They just want to know A) what you’re doing currently/ how you’re involved, and B) why Georgetown?

looks like one of you guys will be taking my place. I’m transferring out.

Why are you leaving?

I don’t really like cities, so the campus itself is pretty unnappealling. Most of all, it is the lack of TLC. My teachers have been less than willing to meet with me out of class, and I have had all 200 person lectures this year and it will continue this way through next year. The school also has no money, so the student body is made up of kids who have more money than God. To give you an idea: I live in connecticut, and I am one of the poor ones by comparison. I just can’t take the presumptuous, impersonal atmosphere anymore. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

“more money than god.” - hum…

I second laxman1 in full. I am also transferring out of Georgetown University.

Ive decided to app as a transfer TO Georgetown for Fall 2010. (i know, its far off, but i plan my life like you won’t believe)

anyways laxman1, i think we should swap lol. I’m looking for EXACTLY what you described, including kids who “have more money than god”. I came from a very affluent area of the NJ shore, and, not to sound like a snob, the atmosphere at Penn State just doesn’t work for me.

plus, Georgetown is known for their U-Grad business law. (#3 nationally accding to Businessweek).

Laxman: Understand why you may not like Georgetown because of the people, but do you honestly believe you will find a different student body at any one of the Ivy League Schools. At any elite college, you will likely find arrogant, wealthy students.

rumsonnnnn
