Where do you take class during summer... Students dont live in DC during summer.

i know, I meant that you can go to your local fire department or hospital and see if they have a class. More likely than not, they have it. A girl on my floor did that, and I'm planning on doing that in NYC during the summer. Not too sure about in DC(noting you live there). Check around at fire departments and hospitals(their Emergency Medicine departments), and you should come up with something. If not, Tuesday and Thursday nights are the lectures(from 8-10pm i believe), and Saturday from 8-1pm i think are the practicals.

I took an EMT class in the fall semester, but I'm still waiting to get my certification, because I'm on a waiting list to take the test. As long as I get certified, I'm going to try to join GERMS. Do they get paid, like can you use it for workstudy or is it completely volunteer? Also, if I don't get off the waiting list to take the state exam, would I be able to just go and take the DC Certification?

Jason, I am lookling at trying this summer at my local comm. college. Thanks for advice.

I got my EMT certification last summer and I'm going to join GERMS when i get down to DC in the fall. I'm really excited!!

I'm taking my EMT certification test this Saturday and I'm soo nervous. Katie, do you have any tips for me?

As a final update, I've decided to go to the Univeristy of Michigan. It was a VERY tough decision, but the difference of $80,000 over 4 years is just too much too ignore. At Michigan, I'll basically be getting paid to go to school, plus it's a great school too.

Good luck to you all, and I'll still be a Hoya at heart. Maybe I'll see you on the Hilltop 4 years from now, in Law School.

HOYA SAXA!

Well I think you made the smart decision... but I would have such a tought time turning down Georgetown!

Have fun at Michigan!

Hoya Saxa

make sure you don't overthink the questions that they ask you on the test. i actually didn't pass the first time because i was overthinking it too much. you know how you get into that SAT mind-set that every possible answer is out to trick you. trust me they aren't trying to trick you. if you look at it in a very straight-forward way you'll be fine!

Wow, Netshark. We shared some anxiety back in December, so I admit I am sad you are not coming. I was sure you were, but your choice was the smart one.

Netshark- the funny thing is, I am currently deciding between Georgetown and Berkeley (in-state), and for the life of me I can not make a decision.

I guess that puts us in the same situation, though you are in stage 2. Do I go with my heart or my head? I can't believe I'm thinking about turing down Georgetown! My oh my how times (and opinions) have changed...

Dan--Yeah, that's definitely the truth. It's a really tough decision, but I know I'll have a great time at Mich. It really depends on the vibe you get from the school, plus the money of course...

Brenner, I feel you. That was a rough time back then! We all should get a list of e-mails once we're all officially registered, so we can update eachother every once in a while.

Sorry to hear that, netshark. I already sent in my $900 GU deposit. (I'm going to call the admissions office to confirm.)

UMich is a great school. Good luck to you and, well, hope to see you on the Hilltop ** sometime ** in the future.

There's always law school! :p

Dan, I think that your distance from G-town would be prohibitive. Its going to be very annoying and expensive everytime you come home.

It took me a long time to decide, but I've finally chosen to go to Georgetown. It was a tough decision to make because it really was the first time that I have been able to decide something that will affect my life so much. Can't wait to go to DC. See you guys there!

Calidan, if you dont go, and neither does Netshark, I won't know anyone.

lol Tlaktan is still going!

OMG I have to make a decision soooo soon!!!

He means from the original EA accepteds. :P.. btw, I had a conversation w/ my Guidance Counselor about you.. he said "He needs to make a decision fast, otherwise he's going to be SOL w/ both schools."
