Georgetown University Class of 2022 EA Applicants Thread

No letter in Arlington, TX

Well if everyone who doesn’t get a letter by this weekend calls on Monday, maybe they will realize that their system is faulty and we can save next year’s applications from the extra anxiety.

What does a thin letter mean?

@tugboatparent They all look the same on the outside. The difference is the stamp prices. A deferral is .46 cents or something around there and an acceptance is .67 cents or something around there.

It’d be hard to tell for sure if it’s an acceptance or deferral by just feeling it, so I’d either look at the stamp or open it up to know for sure(:

@JustLivingLife

ACT: 31
SAT Subject: Math II: 690, Lit: 600, Bio: 600
UW GPA: 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.73
I’m an Early College student and have had all A’s since Freshman year. I am President of multiple clubs, I’m ranked first in my class, and I do a lot of volunteer work.

Didn’t think I was gonna get in because of my test scores, but I guess they put more weight on the interview and essays than I thought.

Thanks! It’s my daughter’s right to open it herself. Am dying to know, tryimg to chill.

This whole letter thing is making me very nervous. If they’re going to send out letter, they need to be considerate and send them out earlier than they do. They essentially said everyone should have their decisions by the 15. I understand that people are going to get them later, but the fact that people 1/2 an hour from D.C. haven’t received anything is ridiculous. It may not be directly their fault, but this whole thing is ridiculous. They really need to move over to an online portal and I don’t understand why they haven’t. Does anyone know why?

Sheesh, this process is nerve-racking enough as it is.

Has anyone from MA gotten theirs yet?

@tugboatparent Haha! My parents would be the exact same way(: Best of luck to your daughter!

If you don’t mind me asking, where do y’all live (state-wise)? We’re all trying to figure out when the heck we’re getting our letters.

@Davish2018 I’m not surprised at all that you got in. Your GPA and rank were definitely high enough to compensate for your SAT IIs. While your ACT is below a 32, it’s still good and they can see you’re smart.

Be happy! You deserve this(:

@justliviglife Thanks! I’m super excited but was shocked! You still waiting on your letter?

@squareular I’m not sure if you’ve looked back, but a bunch of posts were added this morning. I don’t remember seeing anything about MA, but I would check if I were you. As for answering your question, not an MA resident, so I have no idea.

@Davish2018 Yep:/ I will be completely shocked if I get in too, haha!

Do you mind me asking what state you live in? I’m trying to see who’s getting their letters today.

I think its even worth sending a note via their social media if you have not received as of today.

@justliviglife I live in NC.

Got my decision in Ohio. I can confirm that a .67 cent stamp is an acceptance.

@Wboro2018 His info was wrong. I also spoke w him and he was just giving boilerplate responses unless you pushed (which I eventually did). Then he was willing to be helpful.

has anybody in GA gotten it yet?

from Connecticut and no letter still

Can you look at the portal on their website? What does yours say?
