Deferred
@justliviglife I’m sorry if I was unclear. It is only one score she did not report, which was a 3. Her school encourages them to self report their strong scores and does not believe it sends up a red flag if a student does not report a score for each AP course.
@stellasonoma Our informed delivery report this morning did not indicate anything was coming from Georgetown but we received a 67 center.
@rendr1 George Washington University and Georgetown University are different schools.
Ik
@dowzerw Oh, I see! I wasn’t sure if you meant she somehow managed to officially send them individually. I was like what, how?
CONGRATS to her. I wish her all the best.
@rendr1 yeah… Georgetown is ranked #20 but GWU is only ranked #56.
@iwanttogetintocollege First of all, don’t stress so much. All admissions is completely different. I’ve had friends get rejected from Georgetown and they are currently at ivies.
Second of all, GWU is a very good and well respected school. The Elliot school of international affairs has an amazing program.
They’re both very different schools. Don’t be fooled by the acceptance rate either. It’s challenging to get into.
You’re looking at admissions too broadly. As I previously said, it’s extremely different for every school. Every school is looking for different things. Just because you got deferred doesn’t mean you’re going to get rejected from Harvard believe it or not.
Don’t look at schools based on general rankings. If you’re concerned about rankings, look at program rankings.
Do you plan on going to some type of grad school? If so, under grad really doesn’t matter. Besides, you can be successful coming from any school. I totally get where you’re coming from though.
Have hope.
@aa2022 I’m not sure about the initial reason, but I heard part of it was that there wasn’t a high enough demand. They really scrwd a lot of students over in my opinion.
Mailman FINALLY came (really late considering he usually comes at 12 pm and right now it’s 5:00 pm) and still no letter.Guess Florida has to wait till Monday…
College admissions is kinda stressful lol.
@iwanttogetintocollege I don’t know what you want to study, but here’s an example for general rankings versus program rankings:

At times, living in Hawaii has its downsides. Mail from the East coast usually takes 2-3 weeks to get here. I guess we’ll see what priority Georgetown sent my letter as. With luck, it’ll be here by early January.
Nothing in the mail on the west side of Los Angeles
@justliviglife It didn’t come in the mail today in MA.
@iwanttogetintocollege Actually, fun fact: my neighbor was rejected from Georgetown but got into Harvard. Never give up hope!
Came in Michigan today… deferred Disappointed but still hopeful for RD! All of us deferred, keep your heads up!
Accepted into SFS! Cried for a while. If you’ve been deferred , keep your head up! The fact that you’ve applied to Georgetown early shows you’re going places, no doubt you’ll land somewhere awesome . This thread has been really helpful in dealing with the anxiety !
what can us people who were deferred do to increase chances for regular decision? I looked into retaking subject tests but they don’t offer them until may so that’s not an option…
as for writing a letter of interest, is it best to send that now or in February when they’re reviewing applications?
Georgetown’s still my top choice and I really want to do everything I can do to get in regular!!
congrats to everyone who was accepted
