I have been admitted into c/o 2022 and I’m wondeing about Georgetown’s dorms. I’m honestly a huge germ freak… which freshman hall is the cleanest? Please help!
You don’t have a choice of freshman dorms at Georgetown, unless you apply specifically for a living-learning community.
Oh okay, thank you for clarifying! Even though I don’t have a choice on which dorm I get, do you happen to know which one is the cleanest though? I’m really curious
There isn’t a cleanest. They all get similarly cleaned. Whichever has been most recently renovated is the cleanest- for the first term! after that, it’s just a dorm. I think I heard that Village C E (which gets a few freshman, but not many) is getting new windows and furniture this summer, but I don’t think any of the main freshman dorms are getting redone this year.
If you are a germophobe the next four years will either break you of it (the better path, imo- huge waste of time and mental energy!) or be hugely challenging/painful for you- no matter what school / what dorm. The only way that shared housing is ever tolerable for a germophobe is when they have the authority to make the other occupants toe their line.
You can use the CHARMS roommate matching system to at least put the similar type of person you are looking for…not sure “germ freak” is on there but if you are a very neat person you can say that and if you get one of the dorms that you clean your own bathroom in the room you can control that by being a good cleaner. I think your best bet is the CHARMS system and answering the questions about yourself. I think they said it asks things related to neatness/stays up late/listens to music with headphones or not etc… so you can be matched with a similar type.
