yeah, it does seem like everyone with perfect or near perfect stats hangs out here… but there can only be so many valedictorians, right?

ps - your username is making crave a sprite right now.

i took the SAT 3 times… i feel like georgetown frowns upon that…

hahaa lmao i didn’t think of that. it’s the first letter of my firstname and my last name haha. now i want a sprite. . .

Haha! sprevite, this thread is freaking me out too - but it helps to remember that the small percentage crazily dedicated enough to be on this thread probably does include more students with impressive stats than the rest of the pool… Or so I keep telling myself! Just a theory (I am not included in the impressive stats category unfortunately).

Anyone else from vermont by any chance? (I’m applying to the SFS.)

oh and lalalala038, same here hahaa i bet they hated that move lol. they can DEAL.

yeah really, im pretty sure on the website it says “we dont recommend to take it more than twice” WHOOPS, whatever it paid off in the endddd. im so nervousssssss. it doesnt help that the valedictorian from my school is applying early too…

haha i thought i was the only one applying early from my school, but then i found out someone else was and it made me sad. we take somewhat comparable courses (but i would give myself the edge [ap chem over ap bio, ap calc bc over ap calc ab, etc.]) but what worries me is that she gets better grades, (only by a little, but its still a concern). i don’t know how she did on the second round of SATs, but i do know her SATs were not good the first time, so who knows lol.

if its any consolation… 16 people applied to georgetown from my school last year (and my school isnt very big, their class was maybe 180)
this year, i know of like 5 other people applying early for a fact… BUT georgetown usually accepts 2 people early from my school every year so im trying to stay somewhat positive
i have solid SATs and gpa, but im nervous that my courses arent difficult enough

haha. my school is really big, but a lot of kids apply brown ED because we’re in providence lol.

. . .must . . .stop. . .checking. . .CC. . .must . . .finish. . .gov . . .essay!

this is a problem . . .

yeah i have a gov test tomorrow and instead of studying im compulsively checking this thread

Alyxzandra,

haha yes. i’m getting nervous because the ppl on this thread that have been accpeted so far have 4.somthing gpa’s. I am hoping that the URM’s that get into GU, UChicago, and ivies with good-but-not-really-ivy-competitive GPA’s like my own wouldn’t even think to post on threads like this. They probably just keep the result between themselves and their friends. Most people at my school have no clue I’m applying to these schools because i dont want to get the hateful “go figure since you’re black” if I’m lucky to get in to one. URM gives me a slight advantage - or not so much an advantage as a break if im not competitive in a criteria, but I am qualified in other areas.

well…i’m just waiting, praying, hoping, wishing, being superstitious

I was looking at my naviance and so far, those accepted to Gtown at my school had an average of only 3.73 UW…but on CC most people are 4.0s o_O Maybe Gtown knows our school is hard…? Now I’m really scared haha

Gahal;sdkfjasd;fkj I just want it to be tomorrow after school so I can run home and check my mailbox. I will be heartbroken if mail has not reached MN by tomorrow.

It’s not the GPA’s or scores that scare me, but seeing numbers like “750 people that enrolled were varsity athletes, only 20 come from MN, only so many for this college.” AHHHHH, it’s killing me. Those numbers are SO LITTLE.

hi, this is super random, but i’m writing a gov essay and part of it requires me to know a type of temporal bias, and i honestly don’t knwo what temporal bias is. . .help?

I think that all of us are extremely qualified to go to Georgetown, so a deferral does not really say much except that the admissions process is a “crapshoot”. Anyway, would anyone like to take a guess at when I’ll get my letter in Iowa? haha Tomorrow or Tuesday? :)

do you think NC will get letters tomorrow?

temporal means… not lasting. so maybe temporal bias would be something like, people are consumed by the intensity of the moment? i tried googling it and nothing really came up.

I think NC will get it tomorrow. Iowa is probably Tuesday. Minnesota maybe Monday, could go either way. I’m banking on getting mine tomorrow (Texas) because our airport is one of the biggest west of the Mississippi, so it’s a big hub for shipments.

wow, if you guys are asking about NC and Iowa then I guess there’s no chance I’ll get my letter in CA tomorrow, right? Guess it was wishful thinking :-\ and mirzag I totally agree… the entire process at this level is such a crapshoot. very frustrating! but best of luck to all of us!

haha thanks moralitycougar. i’m trying to figure this nonsense out. i’m hoping i get accepted so i don’t have to worry about these shenanigans anymore ahah.
