oceanangel, we use naviance too and our school also has a strangely low average GPA. Looking at the scattergram, the acceptances are clustered in one area and then there are a few off far to the left. They are likely athletic admits (nothing wrong with that!) or some other special circumstance. It really is throwing me for a loop though because my stats are “in the green” according to naviance but I’m really thinking that its just a misnomer because of the way naviance computes the stats.

My lack of caring about school set in about a month ago… It’s gotten pretty bad. I even talked to my teachers about my stress levels being so high that I simply can’t do homework, so I can turn it in late sometimes. … It’s only December… How can this last until June!!!

for my school, the average admit GPA is a 95.76 and the average admit SAT is about a 1450. that being said, there was an athlete admitted a few years ago with an 81 GPA and about 1170 on the SATs… but im hoping that didnt skew the results too too much seeing as the average is of 13 people… idk why im listing all of these stats hahahah :/

haha here here moralitycougar!! lol. damn you, senioritis!!

I don’t know if anyone noticed this article, bue I just found it while searching on google. Please someone tell me if this has allready been brought up.

A lot depends on your distance from big postal hubs rather than sheer distance from DC. NC can be days of difference if you’re in Charlotte or BFE. Also, on USPS’s website you can plug in Georgetown’s Zip and your own to see how long a first class letter should take.
20057, i believe is their zip (i may remember wrong)

lalala - I know what you mean, I keep looking at all the numbers and comparing myself to them, even though the decision has already been made (scary to think about).

I know I fall a little short of the average accepted, but I’m hoping that maybe being Hispanic and applying to the FLL knowing 2 languages will help…but I’m such a nervous wreck right now haha

DonaldDraper, could you post the URL on the usps -calculating the time between georgetown to our homes- thing?
i can’t find it.
thanksss

griffonr - at least youve got a hook going for you! i have absolutely nothing! unless you count the fact that i lived in england until i was 8… but no one would ever guess that and it has given me zero cultural diversity whatsoever.

this is random, but is being an adopted asian girl a hook? haha i have no ideaa at this point. . . asians aren’t really a URM so idk.

i have a meeting after school. i wonder if i can drive home to check the mail, and get back in time without being too late. this should be interesting.

OOOOOH my letter should come tomorrow.
I don’t know how to feel about this…

I hope being an URM is a hook that can really help me though, although I really have no idea about how much it actually impacts my app

I feel as if I’m qualified as a linguistics student and I demonstrated my interest, but there are some blemishes that I hope don’t bring me down.

YESS my letter comes tomorrow. hopefully. maybe.

and in regards to my app, ahha i have more than a few blemishes (too many B+'s in freshman year, sub-par SAT scores). i can’t even begin.

argh I hate time difference haha it’s Monday here already but I have to wait until tomorrow morning to check my email <_<

Do you think that being related to William Gaston will help me?

yeah i have no idea about the whole URM thing and how much it influences your app.
for me, its not that i have blemishes, i just dont think that i stand out at all… i have solid SATs, GPA, and ECs, but so does everyone else haha

When they say 3 days, does that include Sunday (non-business)?
