I was walking out of Healy Hall with a grad student. Stepped onto the seal SPOT ON before he could even warn me… Except he told me not to worry about it, probably afraid that I’d freak out on the spot haha.
13 dayssss.
I’ve been alternating between extremely doubtful and extremely confident for the past… what, two years?.. Urgh.

I’m also quite nevous and IMPATIENT. I’m really desireous of getting in… This would be one of the happiest day in my life. Really.

Ugh. I’m definitely at the point where I’m all too ready to find out about acceptance/deferral and then get sick every time I think about it. Of course I find out during mid-terms…which will be peachy keen. (sarcasm).

So I nearly had a heart attack today. I got an email from admissions saying they were missing my ACT scores and that I needed to fax them immediately. I distinctly remember sending my scores but whatever, I got it sent over.

The email stipulated that the Early Action review will be concluded by close of business Friday, December 4, 2009.

my false alarm story:
i received a letter in the mail from georgetown admissions
it was frightfully skinny and i panicked so badly that i ran into my room to be alone
i opened it up and starting reading the letter and it said
we… are… delighted… to…
hear that you signed up for a campus tour
lol i am so sick of waiting for this acceptance letter to come
has anyone heard stories of ppl in the past getting their letters before the 15th?

Yeah, most people get them a day or two before. I think someone in Maryland posted they got it on the 11th last year on last year’s thread, though I’m not completely sure. Everyone in America has to get them by the 15th, so assuming you live closer than Hawaii, it will probably be early.

The secretary in the guidance office told me today that Georgetown called my school because they hadn’t received the letter part of my teacher rec. Lovely. But apparently it was no big deal and they sent it over yesterday or something like that. I’m not stressing about it though because stuff happens and it’s out of my control.

Though I know we’re all counting the days… ;)

@iheartmiles
That’s really funny! But have no fear, small envelope =/= deferral.

is december 4th early to be done with all the decisions, or is that normal?

will we get letters in next week, or will they wait until late next week to mail them?
lol it seems weird that they would hold the letters just so that they could get closer to the 15th.

Considering the fact that they’re still letting guidance counselors send in letters (see three posts up), I think it would be a stretch to say they’ll finish by the end of this week.

Still, I wouldn’t be too surprised if some DC residents receive them by next friday.

IMO, the most likely scenario is that they’ll mail them next friday. Some kids will get them the 12th/14th. The further-out states will get them the 15th.

yea i also thought the end of this week seemed early… but according to eagle2010, the admissions office will be done by the end of the day on friday.

Do they send out an email or letter saying they received everything?

Ummmm so I sent my application in EA all the way back in October… And today I got an application in the mail. Bad news?

I’m not sure about my chances EA… my GPA was strong, but my test scores were not so good. My community service was good but my essay was mediocre. My interview was great, too.

I’m wondering though- if they defer most of their EA applications (75% or so), what percentage of those applicants do they accept RD?

@birdybrains214: from what I recall from the tour, I believe Georgetown accepts around 15% of the deferred EA applicants during RD.

I haven’t gotten an e-mail or a letter verifying my application has been received…and I mailed it in October…am I in trouble?

I did, however, complete the Personal Data Form (and got an e-mail that said it was complete, etc), completed the interview, etc.

I haven’t gotten word that my application was INCOMPLETE, either…so I’m not sure what to think!?

less than 2 weeks before we get our letters…

So friggin’ pumped/nervous/excited/scared/hopeful/ithinkimightdie.

Is anybody else finding it more and more hard to do homework as ‘The Day’ grows nearer?

Seriously, it’s 12:45 and I still can’t bring myself to start…

@vbplayer - I wouldn’t worry about it; they’ll let you know if something’s missing. I never got a confirmation either.

so i have not yet been able to interview as I attend boarding school and have not had many opportunities to travel to meet my interviewer… Plus, I have only taken one SAT subject test and am taking my final two this saturday… am i completely screwed?
