Have been in correspondence with the Georgetown representative for my area who reads my application and who is also very good friends with my guidance counselor.

3 girls from my class of 60 applied EA. 2 got in; I didn’t. Sweet. So excited for April however. Georgetown is still my first choice and even if they don’t love me as much as I love them I still look forward to sending more grades/supplementary material.

Does anyone know where to find the regional representative for your area (within the U.S.)? PM me with a link if you do, please, as this thread is too active for me to keep up with ! Thanks so much.

Congratulations to everyone who’s been accepted!

I’ve been stalking, for the lack of a better term, these forums for who knows how long and thought that you guys deserve a huge job well done - you’re amazing!

Not to mention, I’m here in Jersey spazzing out, wishing for the mail to come oh… 14 hours early, haha. Plus, I have to get through a chem test, but we all now there’s absolutely NO WAY I’ll be able to concentrate. Oh, and my Outlook probably hates me with the number of times I’ve hit the Refresh button in the past ten minutes.

Haha, sorry for my mini-rant. As I mentioned, freaking out here… ;)

Accepted SFS, but I posted my stats in the other early action thread. Honestly, I don’t know how it happened, I think it probably just came down to the essays and recommendations for me. All of you guys are extremely talented, though (Believe me, I’ve seen your “chances” threads), and you all have an excellent chance for RD.

OMG!!! Accepted SFS Immeasurably happy right now! I honestly did not think I would get in and I agree with the last post about EC and essays carrying my admission… everyone’s stats here are so wonderful and I know everyone is going to have a HUGE chance at admission in RD… good luck to everyone!!! Georgetown Class of 2014, hell yes.

SAT: 730 CR, 650 M, 690 W
SAT II: 750 WH, 690 French, 620 English.

GPA: 3.72, 4.42 Weighted.

White male, from the D.C area.

Kinda of astonished that I got in but yeah I got in. For those who got deferred I encourage you to work on your credentials in the coming months. I think what did it for me was my essay, interview, AP scores (5’s on WHAP, English, Psych, Enviro), and creating a theme that expressed a passion for social justice within my application.

Many of you have higher SAT’s, higher GPA’s, and an impressive list of EC’s so for those who were not accepted I encourage you once again to show Georgetown that you are truly interested in attending (particularly if it’s your number 1 choice) and then hope for the best.

GU CLASS OF 2014! Congratulations I’ll see you next fall =]

SAT: 740 M, 690R, 720W
ACT: 33 (35M, 34R)
SAT II: Three of them (Math, US History and Spanish) in the mid 700’s (I can’t remember details)
GPA: 4.2 Weighted (right around top 10% private all-girls school); hardest courseload available, all 4’s and 5’s in her AP’s so far (but I’m not sure if they knew her AP scores or not).

Hispanic female from Texas; bilingual.

Great ECs, letters of recommendation (I assume) and essays.

Congratulations to all who got in, and best of luck in the regular round to those who got deferred.

I am sorry to hear about the unfortunate news you have received, however, I think it is important for you to understand what the proper course of action is during time like this. If you are applying to Harvard and UPenn (two extremely well qualified schools) you may hear upsetting news back from them as well THUS it is important to keep a positive mindset.

Instead of directing a lot of negative energy towards Georgetown it would be far more productive to use that energy to show them that you really do care (obviously you do otherwise you wouldn’t be this upset). Take the SAT’s again, write a letter or additional essay which shows them that you truly are passionate about the activities in your life, and if you speak to them on the phone or through e-mail don’t come off sounding negative. You are at their mercy, you may think you are properly qualified but you are not the judge, they are.

A whole lot of negativity and aggression will not help you any in your college search. So turn frustrations in something proactive and…DO WORK!

Best of luck in regards to your pending acceptances. Keep your head up and stay focused on the prize

I was deferred ea to the college as a linguistics major. Georgetown truly is my dream and I am going to try my hardest to receive an acceptance letter in April.

Does anyone have tips on what to do next? Should i write a letter reconfirming my desire to study at Georgetown? Should I retake the SAT (I currently have a 1380: 750CR 630M)
PM me with any advice I appreciate it!

I got accepted!!! My SATs were really high, like a 1970. my gpa was a 3.55 (weighted), and i wrote my essays the night before but they came out alright. SO happy! :000000
