Does anyone know when financial aid packages arrive to early action students?
I have the same question. Have you received anything yet?
Hi Parents - Can you let me know if youâve been receiving direct communications from Georgetown since your student was accepted? I am very surprised with the minimal communication since our daughter was accepted early. This is very different from other schools where she was accepted. Weâve only received one email from Georgetown. Are we missing something? Iâd appreciate any insight on this. Thank you!
Did your child get the welcome phone call or the EA meet up invite? There is also an admitted students weekend in March if you are interested. I did a little snooping on the website to see that e-mailâs ramp up in May to the student in the form of weekly emails or To-do lists. I think parents get nothing
Thank you! I am aware of the dates for the admitted students weekend in March, but have not received agenda details/timing. Iâm assuming all of this information is just being sent to the students directly?
Current Georgetown parent (while also waiting RD decision) and can confirm, parents get nothing. Nothing.
Thanks for sharing! Appreciate it. Iâm just surprised with Georgetownâs approach versus other schools.
There is a schedule for the weekend posted. Check with your child for the link. I do wish there was a little more fluff. I like to be in the know. I guess I am going to have to let go some!
Hi all! After the financial aid package and tuition hike, I have to say I am really turned off!! 88 plus and zero aid!! Did not meet our needs; I wonder if anyone else is feeling this way?
Sounds like they determined, based on CSS Profile, that your family didnât have any financial need. Did you run the net price calculator before applying, and if so did it show you would receive aid?
Did you receive the financial aid information in the mail or via email? We havenât received anything yet.
Is your child receiving emails through a personal email address or the Georgetown email?
My child is getting emails to her personal account.
Yes it did!! But, they are infamous for being stingy.; I have heard of Gtown doing this before. many times. I was hoping for more of a match to EFC since I am divorced. CSS doesnât reflect the reality of willingness;her dad doesnât want to contribute.
They donât really care about FAFSA EFC, just CSS Profile. You might talk with financial aid, but if bio dad is in the kidâs life and able to contribute (based on Gtownâs estimation) they will expect him to contribute. All CSS profile schools that require the non-custodial parentâs financials will expect his contribution, Gtown isnât really different in that regard. Good luck, happy to talk more via PM.
It is in the portal. Brace yourself. Good luck!!!
I have updates in the notification section of the MyAccess portal but no award offer yet. Is anyone else still waiting for their financial aid offer?
Can I ask if you had any hints about being accepted? I am from a very small region that always gets interviews waived, so I was surprised to receive an interview.
With the ability to conduct interviews by Zoom, perhaps there is no need to waive them anymore. Georgetown requires interviews of its applicants.
Everyone that I know who applied got waived.
