Georgetown University Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

Well my wait is finally over. Got rejected.

Have to choose between UMich and Chapel Hill. Any thoughts anyone?

Accepted!!! Utter disbelief

2nd time applying as a transfer waitlisted again

Rejected - looks like they do save all the bad news for last. Good luck to wherever you go guys, in the end its about what you make of yourself at the institution you attend, not what the institution makes YOU.

@96Transfer were you waitlisted the first time too?

Waitlisted as an MSB applicant. Honestly wasn’t even expecting to be considered considering my below avg stats. Hope it all works out.

@lisamonroe Waitlisted and then put on the extended waitlist last time

From what I have seen from past year threads, MSB people don’t get off the wait list, do people have info on that?

@96Transfer im in the exact same situation as you, but I have yet to receive any type of decision. can I ask which college you applied to. msb for me

Waitlisted… again. Only this time for the college and not MSB. Well…

Rejected again.

Burn in hell, all of you on the admissions comittee

@Jacob4815162342 wait do you mean you applied for msb, but they waitlisted you to the college?

Rejected got an email and a letter. Woohoo!

@lisamonroe I applied for transfer to msb last year and was waitlisted. I’m applying as a Russian major this time to the college. Hopefully it’s more realistic to get off the college wait list than the msb wait list.

just got off the College’s waitlist

@transferable Congratulations! how did you find out?

@lisamonroe the college for me

@LGfromDC I received an email! now I have to choose between USC and Georgetown… any advice?

@transferable Well I’m really happy for you! And everyone else who got accepted, despite my own disappointment. I’m probably not the person to ask haha. I’m completely biased towards Georgetown. It’s the only transfer I applied for and I’m native to DC. But really, Georgetown’s competitiveness and close-knit community are really worth it and the city is really great to discover

@transferable definitely look at the intensity of your major at GU and USC. See which program is more fitting for you. After being in DC for a year at AU, I like it a lot compared to a city like NYC for business but thats just me. Congratulations for getting off the waitlist so fast!!! Maybe we don’t need to wait till 7/15 after all. Did you get the waitlist notification on the 27th and got the email for it today?
