**Georgetown University Offical Transfer Thread 2008**

Hey guys, I have seen multiple threads relating to Georgetown transfer procedures and so forth for 2008, so I decided we should start this thread to create an umbrella of information as many of us have the same questions.

even though i did apply to this university....

i have completely lost interest in it...

its overall business(accounting) programme is even worst than BYU and Indiana...

The wait is so difficult to bear!!

I talked to the local chairmen yesterday, and he said he would email my interviewer. We'll see if I hear back or not. I really want to go to Georgetown.

any other extended waitlisters from last year on here?

Im an extended waitlister....I also really want to go to Georgetown. Hopefully we will all be kn the same succesfull boat shortly. Although I called them today and they gave me a stern "June 1"

if it helps...based on the gtown transfer thread from last year it seems like most people didnt have to wait until june 1st. at least the accepted people didnt lol. seems like most accepted students found out by around the middle of the month.

I have heard this as well, I also read that priority people heard before others last year? Does this have any credibility to it?

what people constitute priority people? I know extended waitlist would be one of those categories...but is it possible that some priority admits just have good stats or something else?

I would think that priority admits could be those with great stats--the people who are the easiest to decide upon.

According to what I know, priority students are those who were on the wait list or extended waiting list last year. Having been put through the ringer, and believe me we were for over 3 months, our applications are supposedly reviewed and prioritized admission should we have a relatively strong GPA. This, to my knowledge, is the only official priority list Georgetown has and has maintained. That said, there were only 50 students on that list last year, and I doubt any more than 30 chose to re-apply for transfer. Thus, if your not a priority, I really would not be concerned at all assuming your stats are strong, as that leaves open 370+ of the 400 spots available for transfer offers of admission according to Georgetown's website.

Also I didn't mean to say all priorities are getting offers, I should say if I had to predict about a third maybe? of us will be slashed as well, so we're really talking maybe 380+ spots open. No need to be super concerned your not a priority as the priority pool seems insignificant to your hurting overall chances :)

Oh and lets get stats!! Perhaps we should include college name, GPA, SAT and other relevant info as well as priority y/n status

ahh i have my interview on thursday. haven't done a college interview in so long -- hope i'm not too rusty

im all for listing stats...it's a good way to pass the time while we're stressing out and gtown refuses to communicate with us. butttt....i dont want to start...someone else start it lol

oh and we should include in our stats whether we got offered an interview or not...just to see if theres any trend in that. im still not starting it though :)

So why are stats always necessary for people in every single thread? I think it's really stupid.

i thing Georgetown is still living in the old days....

Come on......wats internet for????? why can't they afford to put an admission login site..

its just for fun sachmoney...and yes it is stupid. and yeah, gtown should have one of those login sites so we at least know they have all our stuff. kinda frustrating.

hahaha georgetown "refuses to communicate with us"
