I want to become a doctor in the future and will be going to college for pre-med. I am strongly considering Georgetown but am afraid that it will be very hard to get a good grade. I like the school, but I still want to be able to finish with a pretty high average in order to get into a good med school. I would greatly appreciate if someone would tell me how hard it is to get an A and a good average from Georgetown and about how much work I would need to do. Do you guys think it will be very hard to do well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Our daughter was very prepared for Georgetown through her high school education at a rigorous jesuit high school. She is getting approximately the same grades in college with a heavy course load - a few more A-'s than A’s. It is doable. Good luck.

You will have to work very, very hard. I have friends at Georgetown who are pre-med and they are studying a lot of the time. I also had friends who went into Georgetown thinking they would be pre-med, and then switched because they couldn’t keep up with the amount of work and/or didn’t understand the material and their grades were consequently dropping. I would strongly suggest that if you are wanting to get good grades without selling your soul, go to a different university. I am sure wherever you go you will be very successful; keep in mind, however, it will NOT be easy at Georgetown!!

haha, pre-med won’t be easy anywhere. How could it be? I get the impression that it’s easier at georgetown than places like johns hopkins
