Georgetown University Transfer 2019

when was the latest someone got into Georgetown last year? I still haven’t heard anything back and at this point it looks like I’m going to be stuck at my current school another year

They had people on the waitlist until August 3rd last year based on the CC thread

@kcasssuu im freaking out cuz I haven’t gotten anything yet (then again, I had a grade change that made my gpa go from 3.5 to 3.735)

@heyigotnoclue you definitely still got a chance. I heard someone who transferred to Vanderbilt this year with a 3.3 GPA in college. So other factors in your application matters!

@kcasssuu just got a notification from Vanderbilt and not sure how I feel bout the wording of the message

"your Vanderbilt admission decision is now available via your MyAppVU portal. To view your decision, you must log in to your portal. Details of any need-based financial aid awards also are available via your portal.
Sincerely,
Dean

what does that need-based thing mean 0.o I’m flipping out

@heyigotnoclue Check it. Who knows what will happen?

Need base financial aid is based on your income and assets etc. I think all they’re saying is that your financial aid award is available on your portal. That’s how all mine have been so far for acceptances.

@patrice007 last year they had too many acceptances and shut the waitlist down pretty early (I think the 18th of may). That’s what I read on the Hoyas article.

cri - I got waitlisted @kcasssuu its fine - not sure what percentage it is but oh well… STILL HAVENT HEARD BACK FROM GEORGETOWN

In the website, it says that you will receive your decision by June 1st.

Is it safe to assume I got rejected if I havent heard anything yet?

@whereto2022 I wouldn’t say “safe to assume.” I’m also tempted to make that assumption- at this point, it would be nice to know… well… anything. It looks from past threads like we’re getting into waitlist/rejection territory, but we can’t know for sure. While it’s incredibly frustrating, the admissions process is finicky and opaque, and we just have to keep our heads up.

@whereto2022 I agree. Right now it’s still too early to call it “rejection”…we still got ten more days. However, if you do get a notification exactly on June 1, then it will almost certainly be a rejection.

I made a results thread for all schools. It’d be great for future applicants if you feel it out! http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/2133228-official-2019-transfer-results.html#latest
