Georgetown University Transfer 2019

@ethanissavage Out of curiosity, why didn’t you apply to UT? Their government program is great, and if you’re in state (assuming you are) the tution is fantastic

Can someone chance my daughter please
HS gpa 4.1
SAT 1330/1600
College gpa 4.0
She is applying as a sophomore, she has completed 21 units all rigorous courses related to her major for fall semester and enrolled in 16 units currently. she in in honor program and volunteering at free clinic and working part time
Lots or extra curriculum activity during high school

@Coopy1 Her SAT is low for Georgetown. Other than that, everything else puts her in the playing field. Hopefully her essays and letters of recommendation are great

Anybody know how much emphasis they place on the interview? Feel like my interview went great.

@Ashtash thank you for responding, yes her SAT is definitely her weak point, but her essay is really good and she does have some good letter or recommendations. Best of luck to all of you

would it be possible to get into gt with a 3.55 college gpa but strong stats everywhere else?

@Ashtash it was actually cheaper for me to go to Baylor over UT believe it or not lol. And i have been considering applying maybe next year for transfer to UT if i don’t end up getting into GT

Hey, can someone give me an update or explanation about interviews? I’ve emailed with admissions a few times and I was under the impression that interviews are not required or really even offered on campus, and all depend on their alumni base in your city. But I’ve been scrolling through this thread and noticed that a lot of you all have had interviews, or even got an email saying you wouldn’t be offered one? I’ve heard nothing, and now I’m worried. If anyone has info about their transfer interview policies, please help a girl out!

@lsiegel199 call admissions they are pretty good about answering questions. I did get an email saying I wouldn’t have an interview. You’re probably fine just give them a call.

I think your stats look good and you will have a shot. I’ve been told that as long as you have around a 3.5 college gpa, you could be in the mix. The analysis of GPA will depend on the rigor of the classes you’ve taken and the institution(s) you’ve attended.

Could someone please chance me?

I’m a Hispanic/white male sophomore applying to MSB
I’m currently at a top 20 liberal arts college.
College GPA (including midterm): 4.0 with a bunch of rigorous courses such as Linear Algebra and Calc III
ACT: 33 (35 superscore)
Subject Tests: Math II-760 Math I-740
HS GPA: Probably a 3.5/4.0 uw (my freshman year and sophomore year were bad but my senior year and especially junior year were very good)
8 APs with all 5s and 4s except for 1

College ECs:
D1 athlete
Creating an app
Analyst for the top 2 finance clubs

HS ECs:
Summer intern at a hedge fund for 2 summers
Founder of 2 clubs
Math and Latin Tutor

Awards:
Deans list with distinction
AP scholar with distinction
maxima cum laude on national latin exam

Recs: should be good. I got an A+ in class where the average is a B-

Does anyone know if it’s easier to transfer as a sophomore or junior to Georgetown?

@novicemom26 i would say it depends… for example if you have a very strong high school record and average college record it’s probably easier to get in transferring your freshman year, and vice versa applying your sophomore year. then again i’m no admissions expert but that’s just what i would think

@JordanBelfort1 my guy told me that it doesn’t, he just said it’s to articulate anything you feel like might’ve been left off of your application. he said he just submits answers based on what you say, no inclining on his part one way of the other. then again i did a phone interview so i’m not sure if that holds the same weight as an in person one.

Should we submit midterm grades?

@qwertyu123 I wouldn’t submit documents they don’t ask for. If they wanted to see them then they would ask. If a bunch of people sent in midterm reports it would just be adding onto the documents to look at

Results come out in June right?

The office said they are happy to accept midterm grades on the Common App form.

Why send documents they don’t ask for? If they wanted midterm grades then they would’ve made that apart of the application

@novicemom26 do they mention anywhere on their website?
