I’m not sure if they will come out in waves or not, but I think they’ll be out late May. I haven’t received a decision and I know they’re doing RD decisions now so I don’t think they’ll be out soon. I’m wondering how close to the June 1 deadline they’ll be released because Georgetown announced that the summer program for first-years and transfers is supposed to start June 4… If decisions came out June 1 that doesn’t give us transfers much time to prepare for it.
Yeah June 1st would be too close to the start of summer classes. Last year, they began releasing decisions sometime in April (I think middle of the month) so maybe they will do the same. Late May seems very plausible too.
Hey everyone! Do we know what the average ACT score is for transfers to GTown? I am a bit worried mine is too low (31), but not sure.
I also applied last year for first year applicants and got denied haha. Since then though, I was a full time staffer for the Biden campaign for the general election and worked on the Senate runoff for the Ossoff camp. Do you think that my work experience could offset my lower test score? I am applying as a government major!
Hi!! I’m kinda in the same boat as you. I’m afraid my SAT is too low. I also applied last year and got denied. But your achievement since then seem incredibly impressive and I’m sure they’ll carry weight. I wouldn’t get too worried about ACT scores because I’m sure the admissions committee cares more about high school and college transcripts as well as your accomplishments. Good luck
has anyone interviewed/gotten an interview request yet?
I got mine this evening
has anyone else’s college transcript not been received? all my other schools have gotten it except for Georgetown… I sent it through Parchment but maybe that doesn’t work for Gtown
I think their website states that they don’t accept it thru parchment, you should call the admissions office
I interviewed on 2/25.
had mine late feb. also good luck @ashclark18!!!
Yeah they don’t accept through Parchment I’m pretty sure
Hey how is everyone doing!
As an international transfer applicant, I have not had an interview.
Anyone else in this same boat?
Hi! I sent mine through parchment to their admissions email and it was received in less than 24 hours. What email did you send it to?
I am not an international student but I know, even during times when interviews are virtual, availability depends on alumni in your area. If you don’t get an interview (not to say that you wont) I know it will not count against you because it all depends on your location.
My mistake - they do not partner with Parchment so it will not be accepted through the parchment portal but through parchment you can email it directly to admissions. Does that make sense lol
Hey guys. I was reading the update about the Summer Hilltop Immersion Program for transfers and first-years and it says that registration is due by April 5?? Are we not going to be allowed to participate in this? I guess I am confused if it is for current Georgetown transfer students or incoming transfer students… Summer Hilltop Immersion Program (SHIP) 2021 Update - Georgetown University
Hello, I do not want to worry anyone, but I just read an article discussing the increase in 2025 applicants to georgetown and it quotes the dean of admissions saying that they will likely accept fewer transfer applicants as a result. Does this mean we should expect much less acceptances? I’m a little scared. Here’s the link to the article: Class of 2025 Early Action Admission Rate Falls to Record Low for Third Straight Year.
Update: I thought this program was for incoming transfers too since we missed out on a year of college just the same as other current Georgetown students, but it is not for us. It is apparently only for current Georgetown students. Sorry if I confused anyone!
Wow, thats really not great to hear. I hope that this is not the case, but if it is, there isn’t much any of us can do about it now. Just hope for the best. Good luck to everyone.
