@fnl012 yes, the email simply restated my responses to their waitlist form. Also, I think I will call Gtown soon to figure out the contact info of my regional admissions officer.
Hi. Wait listed to SFS,
I am positive I was waitlisted because my SAT scores are pretty low. I got a 620 in writing and 650 in math, and I didn’t show enough interest. But I think they are still considering me because I’ve had an unweighted 4.0/4.0 GPA all of high school , my letters of recs were strong and so were my essays. Also I have a lot of extra curricular activity and in the top 10 of my school.
I was wondering what are things that I could do to show my interest because I would really like to go to this school, its definitely my number one , and with my low sats score I feel I have so much more to prove.
Hey guys, I’ve changed my mind about staying on the waitlist. Do you know how I can let them know that I’m not interested? I’m planning on going to either UC Berkeley or UCLA in the fall, probably UCLA. Good luck to you all and please let me know if you know anything about telling them that I’m not interested anymore!!
just send them an email
does anyone remember what the waitlist acceptance rates were for SFS? I lost my sheet, but I though it was around 22%?
Wait listed for the SFS after deferred EA…
Low SAT math score (660) and Subject II math score. I can’t think of anything else… Great EC’s and demonstrated interest. My interview went well. Oh well, we’ll see what happens!
Also wait listed at Harvard, UChicago & Notre Dame. (Though I don’t want to go to ND at all.) I sent a wordy, impassioned email to my admissions rep at GU to re-demonstrate my interest, so I definitely recommend everyone do that. I did the same for Harvard and the rep responded within the hour, assuring me that she’d share it with her colleagues when they decide wait list admissions.
Probably committing to Barnard College of Columbia! Good luck to you all!
Are any of you guys going to update your grades?
Lol no they’re so bad
me too. I am afraid they will immediate change my status under wait list to reject .
But final grades won’t be posted until after they have to make decisions (after may 15). Plus I had a C in calc last semester a week before finals and finished with an A so they can’t use these intermediate grades as a checkpoint
how many waitlists you guys on? just the one?
what is the email SOS!!
my admissions officer is away so i got a response that she isn’t checking hers until may 4th or something… is this fine?
six
call admission office and find out who is your regional officer! not every one is the same!
does calling in/emailing in really make THAT much of a difference?
of course, theres no reason not to, just wondering if i should get my hopes up at all…
Does anyone know if Georgetown will be looking to their waitlist any time soon? Historically, it seems as though they do before May 1…
I haven’t even wrote my letter of interest yet, I was gonna send it in this weekend…I thought they would look into waitlist after May 1 once they find out how many more they need to accept, where did you hear they look before May 1?
It must be after May 1 , for all colleges begin the wait list activity, I believe!
I called the admissions office and they said that all offers will be made via mail and final decisions should be received by May 15th at the latest. Which is probably a bad sign if they only expect to admit one wave of waitlistees because usually if they’re having trouble with the yield they’ll have to do multiple to fill a class. Don’t get your hopes down though because they will definitely admit some of us.
