So I’m waitlisted for sfs and just won a scholarship to study abroad next year from the state dept. So I’ll definitely be taking a gap year, no matter what and will be fluent (to some degree) in a critical language, all stuff I think they’d like to see for SFS. but do I tell them that now…? Or could that potentially hurt my chances since they’re trying to fill the class of 2019, not 2020?
I think you should wait until you got off wait listed, otherwise you will not be considered?? You should ask advisor in your high school.
Has anybody heard back? Also do we know if they will email us, call us, or mail us a letter (and when)
It begin on the week on May 4, Ibelieve.
If I am correct, email only for international applicants. I am not sure! :-?
Am I right in thinking that only students who have been admitted will receive these letters…and kids who don’t make it off the wait list do not receive a mailing?
@southernhope Based on a wait list thread from 2010, looks like they send a letter either way. In that thread, people were also receiving calls and postcards to gauge continued interest. No idea if this is how it is still being done.
@kitty1 they start the decision process on May 4th or they start sending out letters on May 4th?
I think the wait listed activity begin the week of May4 if possible seats remain open and decision will be sent out by May 15 according to what people in admission said.
Anybody heard anything yet?
no
This wait is just fantastically stressful because AP tests and finals and graduation wasn’t enough fun. Oh well if I get in it will be worth it I guess.
Anyone know if the phone calls from the admissions office are a thing of the past? I read somewhere that they called their most promising candidates in 2010.
If there is a call that they will make to the candidate this year. I believe it should be today or tomorrow. Otherwise it will be one way or the other, continue waiting or official reject come by mail.
I am losing hope as the days pass. Fingers crossed for a miracle!!!
Is anybody else watching the GAAP Facebook page constantly?
Hi guys, I was called yesterday and called again today by georgetown, and was accepted. Unless you have already been notified, I think they accept you on May 15th. I was accepted to sfs, so the process may be different for other schools.
Hey! Are you an international applicant? And congratulations!
any college?
where is your location?
Just got an email confirming continued interest
