I meant Georgetown college.
Every year there are kids who get accepted via mail and don’t receive a call. From my understanding if you’ve articulated that Gtown is your 1st choice then they don’t bother calling you. I do know that every year kids get off via mail without receiving a call.

SFS. She got the email of continued interest last week and a call from admissions office yesterday. Gave her 24 hours to think about it and to give a reply today, after which they will email her an acceptance letter.
wow - that’s ridiculous. they won’t put it in writing unless they have a guarantee? what about financial aid packages?? how are the families supposed to figure that out. it takes more than 24 hours to work this out. not everyone who applies to georgetown can write a blank check. while you always expect this process to be competitive, this “if you verbally accept, i’ll send you an acceptance letter”, is insulting.
i think the waitlist is used to up the yield numbers, i am guessing most colleges accept kids off the waitlist once they are fairly certain the child will take the spot. all about the numbers.

Any international students receive any confirmations/emails yet?
Just spoke to the admissions office today, they confirmed that all international students will be getting an email by tomorrow latest
Just spoke to GT admissions and they confirmed that students are being admitted from wait-list by emails and phone calls. The representative indicated that tomorrow is the “big day” and letters would go out however he agreed with me when I stated “if your not getting a call or email by tomorrow you are most likely not going to be admitted from the wait-list at this time.” So the good news…if students don’t hear by end of business tomorrow you can move on with your plans and get off of the anxiety train. Just remember you determine your success, so go and be great where ever you end up. Good luck to everyone and congratulations to those accepted!

Hey, what are your grades, and sat like? Just wondering who I’m up against haha
@salameishq I have a 2400 SAT in one sitting and a 4.0 GPA UW. I’m fluent in 6 languages. I run a non-profit that provides free immigration services to orphaned children that are undocumented aliens. I’m a black/hispanic female from a public high school in North Dakota. 
Now, what are your grades and sat like so I can see how they compare up against mine.
@typedtyper and you didnt get in georgetown? geez, my son had less SAT scores and he got in, guessing they assumed you may not take a spot?
where else did you try, i am in awe of your numbers, so dumbfounded by you being on the waitlist.
