@TyedTyper your joking but not too far off I have noticed a trend on those getting off wait-list posting her. They seem to be female students living in the Midwest or west region (other than the one northeast). I remember reading an article about how GT tries to have students from all 50 states each year. They are most likely using the wait-list to fill in the gaps Tomorrow will be very interesting to say the least.
I have been following the GAAP Facebook page pretty closely. There have been, by my count, 48 high schoolers added to the GAAP page since the waitlist process started. What I would like to know is if those 48 are students who were admitted in the regular admission cycle and just joined the group late or are they wait list adds who joined the group after getting admitted off the waitlist.
Probably a combination of the two. I’d imagine a couple more kids will get off tomorrow and a couple will be placed on the extended waitlist
most will be rejected! :((
They added a ton of people last Friday – but let’s assume that was just folks whose deposits cleared by May 1. This week, they added a bunch on Monday, then 13 on Tuesday, 5 on Wednesday, and 3 on Thursday. However, of these, the vast preponderance of them appear to be either current Georgetown students (entered Georgetown in 2014 – perhaps RAs or others who work for admissions) or students who announced they were going to Georgetown in March or before. There are only 6 who are class of 2015 and don’t have a publicly-accessible FB posting indicating when they got in.
In other news, there’s an article today in the Hoya that deconstructs the yield. Business school and Nursing school are full. They “will fill” SFS and College today. They are not taking any more science majors. By today, they will have offered 100 WL spots, and they expect 80 to matriculate. So bottom line seems to be that there is likely to be a bunch of movement today.
@ackack Great article/analysis on the waitlist…
Internationals can call and learn their decisions.
did u call?
Wait do they call if you’re rejected too or only accepted? Cause I missed a call seven minutes ago
it is easy, you call miss call no left on your phone
So except for internationals, most folks hear via regular mail, yes? And are those letters supposed to arrive today or be mailed today?
@Pianogeek , I feel very optimistic for you!!!
@pianogeek, was the call from georgetown or DC or was it just a missed call?
@rose1024 I called them back and she said she’s from Gtown undergrad admissions! She hasn’t called me back yet. So nervous!!!
I still haven’t gotten an email though…??
good luck!
@pianogeek if you don’t mind me asking, where are you from?
Got a call from 202-535-6668 @ 2:24pm. NO message left. Around same time as @pianogeek. Unfortunately can’t return the call, so I’m guessing it’s just a coincidence. No email. No snail mail.
I got an email about my financial aid today and a link to a portal (myaccess) but I don’t have a Net ID to log in with…also checked the directory to try to get my Net ID but I wasn’t in there
HOLY COW I GOT IN
