Maybe I am getting too upset or paranoid, but I just recieved an e-mail from Georgetown saying that:

We are missing the following items from your application:

High School Transcript
University Transcript
Professor Recommendation
Dean's Report

Now, I sent ALL my materials in one BIG envelope. I have called numerous times to check on this before and they kept saying it was complete. Now, I come back home late one night and I get this sprung on me.

I don't want to whine about the problems I'm facing to get copies of these but just wanted you guys to know about it.

I am not sure if that is proper. Though the dean's recommendation and professor's recommendation may, indeed, be sent in that manner, the other two documents must be sent directly from the school itself.

I think they generally want those items to be sent by the school directly. So best thing to do at this time, is to ask the school to send the items, meanwhile contact G-town let them know that you already sent the items with your app and asked for them to be sent again by the school. They should be able to work with you, but you got to contact them asap. Also ask them to make a note of it somewhere on your app. good luck!

A lot of the schools, including Georgetown, allowed me to put my transcripts in with my application as long they were in a sealed envelope with the "Official Transcript/Do Not Break Seal" stamp from the registrar on the envelope.

check being cancelled? do you mean cashed? you might want to escalate the issue a bit, make sure the director of admissions gets to hear about it, and gives you an extention on getting those items in.

they were missing my dean's report and my check (which was cashed). how did you get the cancelled check to them so quickly? i had to call my bank and get them to send me a copy, which still hasn't shown up!

Umm I'm not even sure why they told you that your applicatoin was complete over the phone..they dont do that. They can only tell you the status of part one, not the rest of the application. Perhaps that is what they were saying that recieved.

The check thing happened to me TOO!!! What's up with Georgetown, maybe they're doing this to show that they are being so interested in us, they are neglecting their basic duties.

I've got to fax a copy of my bank statement too

yeah, they told me over the phone not to worry about my application, that they would tell me if they were missing anything...they told me 3 weeks later that i was

I'm a bit confused why they would say it's complete..I've called twice to inquire about it, and they wouldn't tell me anything except the whole, "we'll notify you if anything is missing" thing..
