I live on the East Coast, interested in science/math, and am looking for a fun social life. I'm not Catholic, and I think I would prefer to be closer to a city. ND has been a childhood dream for me, so I'm not entirely sure if I still want to go there. At this point, I think it's more between NU and GU. Any thoughts?

Be more specific.

Otherwise, you have three excellent schools to choose from. What are the most important factors you considered in deciding which colleges you applied to?

Costs & aid?

The most important factor I looked at when applying to schools was the well-roundedness of undergraduate programs, in case I change my mind about my major. I have an interest in physics and astronomy more specifically. I know GU is not as good as NU in this field, but they are working on a new science building for 2012. My aid award is similar across the board, so that’s not much of an issue. I guess my main question is, at which school will I be able to enjoy myself and not be overworked?

I took a tour of Georgetown led by a graduate of my high school, and the only department he spoke poorly of was the physics department. Just keep that in mind.

With that said, there’s still a lot to love about Georgetown, and I would also argue that on the whole it has strong offerings across the board.

bump…

Northwestern seems to provide the best fit. It is stronger in sciences than the other two schools, and generally considered to provide a good balance between academics and social life.

I would second Northwestern. Academically, it is the most well rounded of the three and soicially, it also has much to offer.

Georgetown is the weakest of the three in the sciences - by far.
