Georgetown vs. Carnegie Mellon

I'm a student who's currently attending Carnegie Mellon University.
I applied to some universities for transfer and I got accepted into Georgetown Univeristy.
Both are very good and competitive schools, but to me Georgetown seems a little better since I'm planning to go to a law school and Georgetown is definitely better in terms of humanities and social science. (I'm currently in Tepper, and I got into Georgetown as Econ-Poli-sci and I'm planning to minor in business as well if I enroll in gtown) But my parents seem to feel that these two schools do not differ that much in terms of fame and my future; furthermore, I'm expecting a lot of paper writing and discussions in Gtown, which Carnegie Mellon seems to lack. I feel this is necessary for me but I also feel a little worried being that I'm an international student and my English skills inevitably is behind other native students.

The living conditions, I expect to be much better at gtown. The weather, the location, everything seems to be better than Pittsburgh although I have never been to DC.

What do you think? Do you think going to gtown will be worth the adventure and the risk I have to make?

Just know that getting into law school has little to do with your major or type of school (at least that’s my impression- I’m not saying prestige/difficulty isn’t factored in, but Carnegie Mellon has both). A good GPA and LSAT score can get you into pretty much anywhere. If you’re not into Math/Science, you definitely should consider transferring. If you’re just into law (in the future), don’t transfer now. I do understand wanting to build up your writing skills though. DC is (IMO) nicer than Pittsburgh. Still, both schools offer great educations. It really depends on what you want to study NOW, and if you are happy at Carnegie Mellon. Don’t transfer solely because you want to go to law school afterward.

p.s. You should ask this question here, as you’ll get more responses (and better ones :D):
