Georgetown vs Notre Dame

I am running out of time to decide which college is a better fit for me, Georgetown and Notre Dame. My concerns are that Georgetown doesn't have the same community feel as Notre Dame. I was also wondering how serious Georgetown students are about their studies, like how serious is the competition between students. If anyone had to make a similar decision please tell me why you choose Georgetown over another school. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by community feel...
BUT
I'd say that Gtown students are very serious about their studies...they study hard and like to play hard too! In reality, most Gtown students try to balance their course work, a job/internship, social life, and an extracurricular or two somewhere in the mix. It makes for a student body that has a diverse mix of interests and experiences.
As for competition, it's not cut throat or anything. I know of schools where students race to the library to check out books first so their other classmates won't get them...DEFINITELY NOT LIKE THAT HERE! Most students like to work together on things...business school people have to, sfs'ers usually do for things like econ and those hard ir courses, etc.
In general, gtown students are serious about their work but at the same time the students and school recognize the importance of a well-rounded individual...plus as a Catholic institution it's a bit more liberal than Notre Dame...

Thanks enygma8. Also is it true that the business school is easier than the other schools at Georgetown? and i've heard that there are some very wealthy people at Georgetown and have a reputation of partying pretty hard, is this just a minority of the student body?

Different schools require different types of work...I'm SFS but two of my roomies are MSB and the workload is completely different. They do a lot more group projects which means less individual work, but then again when I think about how many times group members of theirs have slacked off or procrastinated, the stress level ends up being the same. My workload tends to be very heavy on the reading. A lot of times people do say that the business school is easier and has more beneficial grade inflation...but you'd probably do best to talk to an MSBer about that.
Yeah we have some wealthy people here...it's scary. But never fear, there is a sizable amount of the population that truly knows the meaning of the word "budget." It'll be fine...I know Gtown has a high class reputation...trust me, there's something for everyone.

my brother is currently at Georgetown. I have stayed there twice. It is so much fun for many reasons. First, the location. You can't believe how many fun things there are to do. There are students everywhere in D.C. As far as the wealthy issue, students say it is no different than any other great school. we have friends at ND, and some of them feel isolated, compared to being in D.C. and Georgetown has a fantastic community feeling. my brother has made many close friends, and there is a lot of school spirit. i don't think there is any comparison, but good luck with your decision!

forgot to say my brother had to chose between ND and Georgetown. He chose Georgetown in the end, because he felt it had so much to offer. similar in that it is Catholic, but in such an exciting area, and also with such great school spirit, great dorm life, etc. there really is something for everyone at Georgetown. everyone loves it!!

South Bend, Indiana vs Washington DC??? Diversity vs almost no diversity? You decide

where did you decide to go?????????????????????????/

I had a hard time deciding but in the end I decided to pick notre dame. thanks everyone for your help. I'm very indecisive and just picked the one that seemed right at the time. hopefully i made the right decision
