Hello =) I was fortunate enough to be accepted into both Georgetown (College) and Princeton's Class of 2015. I'm interested in Government. My first choice has been GTown for a while but I don't want to pass up the opportunity of going to Princeton. I feel more comfortable at Georgetown and the opportunities at DC are infinite. I am a smart, hardworking student, but the academics at Princeton are somewhat intimidating to me. I also don't want to regret going to Princeton only for the name/connections. Plus, I want a strong African-American community..Georgetown is ranked Top 10. Princeton is like 30-something. Both are giving me affordable financial aid. PLEASE PLEASE help. I am so torn!

Princeton

Georgetown is primarily known for its gov’t and legal programs where as Princeton is strong in variety of areas. Plus while Georgetown is well known in DC the Princeton name travels well internationally.

Both G-town and Princeton have large international student bodies which tends to lessen the need for a strong black or any other ethnic community.

If fun (nightlife, sports, etc) and good eats are high on your list…Georgetown hands down.

As far as the academics…don’t worry about. Princeton has a very low dropout rate meaning admissions rarely makes wrong decisions.

thanks for the insight. I think I’m going to go to Princeton. Yeah, it’ll be challenging but it’s college! And I’ll pass up the fun of DC for a better education at Princeton. It’s an amazing opportunity so I can’t pass it up
