Georgetown vs USC business major- which one better. my son got scholarship(Trustee) from USC and no scholarship from Georgetown. pl advice if finance is no issue

Where does your son think he wants to live after graduation? Undergraduate business is highly regional in its hiring. Therefore Georgetown will be very strong from Virginia to NYC; USC in Los Angeles and the West Coast.

Georgetown has a strong reputation in Finance particularly banking. USC in International Business and the Entertainment Industry. The School of Accounting is very well respected.

Please see my post in the thread “Will I Fit in at SC?” It has much information about the Marshall School of Business, alumni and features of the school.

In the U.S. News rankings of undergraduate business schools SC’s Marshall was recognized in more specialties than McDonough School of Business. MSB was recognized in only one specialty, International Business, tied with Marshall at #4.

I am assuming your senior is planning on a business major at either school.

In terms of the decision between those 2 schools, I would focus on the differences between student body and location and where your D or S would fit in the best.

Academics are great at both schools, but both those schools are very different also the locations/cities are very very different.

^^^what they said. This simply comes down to east or west coast and all the difference with those two locations (people, weather, industry influences like film v politics, etc). LA or DC - two different worlds. Either school will be great.
