georgetown vs. usc

I got into georgetown sfs and usc thematic option/ honors college (no merit scholarships surprisingly). I'm leaning towards georgetown because it's the better school for politics, which is what I'm interested in, but I'm not sure if I would really be happy at georgetown. I'm from San Jose and LA/USC seems like a better place for me.

Any insight on either school is appreciated.

if you want to go into politics, then you should definately go to georgetown!! I live in southern california and I can tell you that besides the AWESOME weather basically 24/7, everything else sucks haha jk If you got a scholarship at USC, then you should consider it... but you didn't so go to georgetown! Also, there is supposed to be a big earthquake here soon so going far wouldnt hurt

go to georgetown for sure
esppppp with what ur interested in
(it's the nation's best)
i'm sure you'll find the right people and be happy in both places

My brother goes to SC and sometimes I wish I was there cus it's an awesome school too. I'm very jealous of their football team, although we have basketball here, there's a big difference between crowds at the MCI center vs. the Coloseum. I think georgetown is probably a lot harder, but it does have more prestige. For politics DC is the place to be.
The weather really isn't that big of an issue. In fact having an actual winter here will make you appreciate home so much more- I never realized how gorgeous san diego was until I experienced variation in weather.
I don't know about your situation, but for a lot of people, SC is a lot like their high school and I definitely think it's worth it to get a different experience for a few years. Sometimes I do wish that everyone was more chill here like at sc, but we have to work hard before we can party.
You'll probably be happy at either place- everyone I know at SC loves it and most people love gtown too. I'd say a main thing to think about is if you want to stay in CA and be somewhere you know you'll be comfortable or go somewhere new and experience a different livestyle.
