Extended waitlist, oh well I will be off to Yale in the fall. Boola, boola!
Son extended waitlist . Of 3 kids at his school ok waitlist 1 was denied and 2 were kept on waitlist so there were definitely some denials !
My son is now also on the extended waitlist. Many schools (Northwestern for example) keep their waitlists open through June, so I guess this is that same deal. I always thought 5/15 was early to be done with the waitlists, but honestly I think it’s better they let the students know that they are not likely getting in, even if there is still a slight chance…better than holding on until 6/30.
Sounds like you are all great candidates and all have amazing acceptances already. Good luck to everyone!
Daughter on extended waitlist for MSB. We’re in GA. She committed to Emory, which gave her a great financial pkg. This seems like game playing to me and I’m not pleased about it.
Received a call from my AO asking me to reaffirm my commitment; the AO stated I would likely receive an offer, but my portal has not been updated either way. I sent a follow up email stating that I would definitely accept… The agony of waiting! Anyone else in the same boat? Thoughts?
@DutchBro congrats. Given you received a call and your portal doesn’t include the canned reply, I say you’re in and you’ll get your acceptance soon. I’m interested to know when (what day) you received the call from your AO and did he/she first send you an email. Also, what GU school did you apply to and which state you’re from.
@DutchBro I’m in the exact same position is you; received an email from my AO the morning of the 15th to set up a call. She gave me my estimated fin. aid package and asked if I was okay with having my app. being pushed for review. I said that my family and I were totally on board but due to a change in my financial circumstances as a result of COVID, the AO wanted me to contact the financial aid counselors first to get an updated aid package before having my app. pushed for review. E-mailed financial aid and am still waiting for a response. Kept checking my portal last night and it wasn’t updated at all.
@marc.mags- please keep me posted and I will do the same. GOOD LUCK to you! What school are you applying to?
@Camlian; first heard from AO on 5/14 via email requesting phone meeting. Spoke with AO on 5/15. I am applying to MSB.
@DutchBro Thank you and good luck to you as well! I’m applying to NHS! Will be sure to keep the thread updated as well!
Same extended waitlist SFS, international applicant
@“marc.mags” , Just got a call from my AO! So thankful she called me to tell me I was accepted. She said the portal won’t be updated until Monday. GOOD LUCK!!! Hope to see you on the Hilltop!
@DutchBro CONGRATS!!! That’s great to hear! I have yet to hear from my AO or financial aid and the wait is killing me. Hope that they wouldn’t contact me for nothing! Congratulations again on your acceptance!
@“marc.mags” Hang in there… I know how hard it is to be in limbo. I went from no real expectation from the waitlist to so excited when they called me, and then let down when I didn’t get immediate offer. I had to keep reminding myself they didn’t have time to call everyone on the waitlist and if they called, it had to be intentional. Hang onto hope!
@“marc.mags” and @DutchBro did you guys contact your regional AO or did you only send a LOCI??
@galvanometer I sent in a LOCI on April 24th and then contacted my regional AO on May 5th
@“marc.mags” did your regional AO share their email contact with you to be able to send them an email? We have been advised to not reach out to the Regional AO directly. Although we know his email id we have stayed away from Emailing him so as to not piss him off. Please advise.
@kananha Nah I found it out myself as I found that a lot of people were having success by contacting them personally; never was advised not to do so but I also did genuinely have questions so there’s that
@“marc.mags” do you mind sharing which region you are from? I emailed my regional AO towards the end of April and then again in May with questions, but both times I received no response. I don’t know if this is because my AO dislikes me or if it’s simply region-specific.
My D had same experience with her AO. As did her college counselor. We are from the New England area. He never responded to any emails, or even acknowledged the receipt of new materials.
