Georgetown Waitlist Thread 2018

My daughter got a call last week from the regional officer asking if Georgetown is still her top choice. They told her that now it will be forwarded to the final admission committee and will come back with a decision by this weekend (either call or post). She has applied to SFS from NV.

Has anyone else gotten a letter so far? What are the dates on them?

Just called admissions, the guy told me they will e-mail everyone tomorrow.

@CAShopeful‌ what will the email say??

@FUnderwood‌
Whether or not you’re accepted/put on the extended waitlist/denied…

I believe since people are getting off the wait list, people who did not get contacted by admission officers should be ready for bad news. I do realize that there is a possibility that people might get off the wait list tomorrow, but since there have been people who got off the wait list, that possibility is slim. Still hope you all get great news, and if not don’t be sad about it. College is just the beginning!

i agree with @hotspurs‌
if they wanted u theyd taken u by now

@FUnderwood‌
From all the waitlist threads, everyone always says that.

The general conception is that those who get called before the 15th are the ones who Gtown uses to tweak their class and get people who they need for deficiencies in a couple subjects.

And also people reported getting off the waitlist with no call, etc. in all the other years’ threads, so…

@CAShopeful People got in previously without getting a call? Like who?

im just saying that we shouldnt get our hopes up high

What time do you think they’re releasing the letters?

its 9:30 in the morning over there
so id expect by afternoon/ mid evening

So even students in the USA should be expecting emails today?

Does anyone know when they will send out emails? Anybody from western mass receives any emails?

@noosjuice‌
Read through previous years’ waitlist threads.

And also had a buddy who got a letter today, accepted to MSB.

wait, so should people from the continental US/US territories be expecting letters in the mail or emails?

@CAShopeful Did your friend receive calls/emails from his/her admissions officer/office of admissions? Thanks

@CAShopeful Also, was your friend notified by email or snail mail?

i think from what ive read in previous threads, every applicant gets an email

Anyone receive anything yet?
