Georgetown

I've heard that EA Georgetown is incredibly selective (much more than RD), and I was wondering if anyone had any idea of if the acceptance to GT EA is primarily based off of test scores. To keep this brief, I have a 3.9 GPA (out of 4.0), the most rigorous course load I can take, 1980 on SAT, 700 on SAT II Lit. I'm a white male from Georgia, but I have very strong ECs (ranked 4th in the country in debate, started own 501(c) nonprofit organization).

Will my application actually have been read, or would the committee just have passed it over as my test scores are subpar?

OK, so what are your non-reaches like?

The committee will definitely read your application–don’t worry about that. However, you do need to have very high test scores. My friend was deferred yesterday, and she has a 33 ACT, 4.0 UW, and 2190 SAT. It’s very competitive EA, so I would suggest bringing your SAT up a couple hundred points. Also, have you tried the ACT? Your debate ranking will be very helpful, too.

@motivatedjunior‌ thanks dude

lol she said non-reaches

Georgetown in both ED and RD look at everything! Ur SAT isn’t bad. I would apply :slight_smile: go for it

bschooler2011, though your SAT may be a tad low, it isn’t a deal breaker. I was accepted EA with a 2020, and rather average SAT II scores. Being well rounded in terms of extracurriculars and coming off as an appealing person in your interview is equally important, if not more so. Also, I would recommend taking 2 more SAT II’s, as Georgetown asks for 3.
