Georgetown

I want to apply to the school of foreign service. What are my chances?

I am only a sophomore in high school so I haven’t taken the ACTs or SATs and I don’t know what my gpa will be like but this is what I know so far:

My Gpa is a 4.05 (out of 4.6)

I do not have any honors classes but the APs I will have by the end of senior year are

  • World History
  • English 11
  • English 12
  • U.S History
  • European History
  • French
  • Human Geography or U.S government

E.Cs

  • President of UNICEF club
  • Model U.N (may become president)
  • Debate
  • Volunteer with temple
  • Babysitting (at least twice a week)
  • Work for my mom’s store
  • (maybe) Internship at law firm

I also took a class at Brown over the summer on International Relations and I will be doing a semester abroad next year in Israel. What do you think?

You are on the right track to building a competitive application. Get that leadership position for Model U.N. Win some awards for Model U.N. and try getting successful UNICEF drives to occur. Keep your unweighted GPA around a 3.9 while taking basically the hardest classes available to you. Most importantly, plan your standardized testing route for Georgetown. They recommend submitting three subject test scores so you should figure out which ones are best for you to take. Sign up for subject tests that are relevant to your coursework

Thanks so much! I am planning on take the world history subject test, and I will also probably take u.s history and English
