Any inside info about what it's like to go to this school? Looks pressured & pretty rigourous.

its a lot like attending any other good school. i'd bet that the academic experiences of most students is pretty similar at the top 25 schools or so (save caltech and mit possibly). its the social aspects that set the schools apart.

So what is the social scene like at Georgetown?

Based on your stats, you need substantial improvement to be accepted unless your a recruited athlete.

Georgetown is an excellent institution if you're interested in political science, pre-law, and liberal arts in general. The School of Foreign Service is outstanding.

With that said, Georgetown isn't particularly strong in the sciences and I don't believe it has an engineering school. And one of my friends tells me that GTown's business school is vastly overrated. GTown's strength lies in its strong alumni networking, its location, and its programs in politics, law, etc.

It's a great school, though SFS is quite a bit harder to get into than the college of liberal arts (or whatever its proper name is).

Plus being in DC is awesome for internships and networking. The alumni network is apparently unbelievably good.
