Hi Everyone :) Going to Georgetown has been a dream of mine for years now, and I'm hoping that I am a good candidate for admission but I'm not sure. Can anyone help me out?

I have a 97 average in a mixture of High Honors courses and all of the APs offered to me (Government, US II, Calculus, English, French V, Physics, Art History). My school hasn't released my GPA yet because they don't rank. I took the SATs and got a 710 M 720 CR and 740 W. I've received various awards and scholarships through school, as well

My extracurriculars include 15 years of ballet, 12 years of piano, chorus, theater productions at school twice a year, debate team, model UN, volunteering at my local library since freshman year, and volunteering at my school in multiple clubs and fundraisers, including a charity club I founded. I've also participated in several leadership-based summer programs over the past few years.

Am I candidate for Georgetown (specifically the School of Foreign Service)? Please let me know!

SAT IIs?

Elaborate on your ECs, exact volunteer hours, exact clubs, leadership positions, what you organized, etc.

I’ve heard that just apply to Georgetown and transferring to SFS is easier (just look this up just in case). Apply ED and you stand a good reach. Though it’d really hard to say without more details on ECs and your SAT IIs

NO! Do not apply for the college and internally transfer. I had my interview for Georgetown with a former alum, it is much harder to transfer than it is to just apply for SFS. The reason it’s hard to transfer is because somebody has to drop out of SFS for there to be a spot available to transfer, make sense?

I think you’re an okay candidate. Do you know what exactly you want to study? I think it’s important that your ECs show/ or at least have some contribution to your intended major. Ie can you explain what ballet has to do with wanting to be a foreign service officer?
