Hi y’all! I am currently applying to colleges and was wondering if anyone has any insight to what the social life is like at GCSU.
I am not a big partier and don’t want to join a sorority so I’m trying to find schools in Georgia that a social life is not dependent on if you’re Greek or drink.

I have a sophomore at GCSU. There is Greek life, but it’s not as dominant as at bigger schools (my kid is not Greek, abhors all things Greek, but does have a few friends who participate), and of course there is drinking, but it doesn’t sound like it’s everyone. People drink in college. It’s there if you want it, and certainly avoidable if you don’t.
My impression is that you need to bear in mind that it’s a pretty small school in a VERY small town, but given those restrictions, there are a surprisingly diverse number of clubs/groups/events around. Also, my kiddo is in the Honors program, which seems to be a fairly tight-knit group (particularly if you choose to live in the Honors dorm).
