Georgia Hope Scholarship & tax consequences

<p>Hi, for any other Ga parents that have received both the Ga Hope and outside scholarships -
1. Is Hope taxable (it was included in the 1098T from the college)?
2. If the student had no other income - then they must report the scholarship income, right? Who takes the tuition deduction?</p>

<p>I think if a scholarship is for tuition, then it’s not taxable.</p>
